Sebring convertible to arrive in LA?

11/27/2006, 12:15 PM

Chrysler may be planning to unveil the convertible version of its 2007 Sebring at the Los Angeles auto show this week, according to Automotive News. Chrysler won’t confirm the report, but all indications are it’s on the mark.

The Sebring will be the first full size convertible offered with a choice of either a folding hardtop roof or a traditional canvas top. The 2007 Chrysler Sebring sedan was first unveiled in June.

That front bumper is hideous. Why if they were trying to make it look similiar to the crossfire didn’t they just copy the crossfire bumper???

I’ve seen a couple of the Sedans on the road (I’m in the Detroit area) and as a vocal critic of its ugliness in pictures, it really does deserve a 2-3 out of 10 in real life versus the ZERO that most of us graded it when these pics were first published. Knowing that the market for a pedestrian C/D size car is rather crowded, the biggest question I had a few months back was how this would look in convertible form?

As really the only “very affordable” convertible that isn’t a sports car or near-sports car akin to the Mustang/Eclipse segment, this was the only

yeah im really not following how badly they screwed up the front valence/bumper. it looks droopy and ugly, and doesnt go with the rest of the car at all. In this months car-mags they have ads that show the sketches of the sebring and then the actual one. it should have looked like the sketch, and they could make it alot closer with a simple valence adjustment. I guess it gives them something to facelift it with when its withering on the vine in 3 years.

The convertables are in the Auburn Hills area with camo on them so I would assume they will make an appearance soon.

These will be all over the road here in south Florida soon (almost every rental agency had the previous Sebring convertibles). Ugly is as ugly does.

Dear Chrysler,

You dumb down all of your vehicles to the point that nobody gives a **** about your junk anymore.

The hood looks reminiscent of an old Chris-Craft boat bow. This hood sucks as it belongs on boat. Not only that this car sucks. Chrysler is dying…

a competing website (TCC) has pics of the Sebring Convertible and I think the 35+ yr old non-sports car types are going to have to start somewhere else for their summer vacation vehicles… it’s not beautiful.

DCX dropped the ball on this one.
