I don’t think this is a smart move for Shelby himself. Kinda degrades his image alittle doesn’t it? I mean, a SHELBY rental car from Hertz?

Look for the upcoming Leftlane news article about how many of these get wrecked right off the bat.

Haha, I bet you’re right. Hertz wouldn’t want to replace a bunch of fried clutches, would they?

I confirmed they are all autos for sure. Just click at the link on the top of the page and scroll down to the powertrain information.

Okay. No thanks. At least make a FEW of them in manual. That’s kind of pathetic.

huh… the automatic may kill these cars auction value next year… low production helps though…

#1 Right, except for the fact that they did the same damn thing forty years ago with a GT350 and now collectors are fighting over the ones that are still around :)

Oh don’t be stupid. Of COURSE their going to be automatic. How smart would it be to make them manual? Do you not get that they would just get destroyed? And it wont flop. I’m in Orlando, and I plan to rent one on my next business trip.

Man, I can’t stand people who go firing off comments without doing their research!!!Tim-bit and BAMF is so right. GT350H from 1967 are so hard to find, especially having all the paperwork. Once these are sold, they will be collected and heralded, and not seen for the next 30 years and they’ll fetch atleast triple their cost because they are a limited special edition Shelby reflecting light on the yesteryears.

Your’re all right about their history… but Chad #13, being worth triple their price? I really doubt that. Even the old collectible 1990s Corvette ZR-1 was heralded in the same way and now its not worth anything. I think these cars in 40 years– as exciting and successful as I think they’ll be now– will be as valuable as the Ford Cobra IIs of the 70s: worthless.

Thats a 1990 Corvette Hes saying that a 1967 has tripled now so it would be like saying that in 2041 these will be worth triple not triple in 2015 a 10 year old car like the corvette is not a classic this will be a classic and worth triple in THIRTY years i got my name down to rent one couple month wait though

I am from the U.K myself and am coming over to L.A for a vacation from the end of June 2006 until the end of July 2006. Man i wish i didnt have kids though so i could rent this beast of a thing!

And also Hertz the company is getting on my nerves as i have rented a Cadillac Escalade from them thinking that i would be gettin the 2007 revamped model, however i am receiving the old model which i hate in comparisson to the new style!

Do any of you guys know if Hertz do rent 2007 Cadillac Escalades and if they only do not give them to tourists?

Thanks

I had a 65 GT350 clone and now a SRT8 Jeep and they are both a blast to drive. I will be renting a GT-H on my next trip and can’t wait. It will be an honor and a thrill to drive such a great car. How many people that rented the original GT350H’s wish they had bought them on that auction block when they left Hertz, probably 100%. If you get a chance this time around don’t pass it up, I know I won’t.
