Škoda has confirmed that it will unveil the 2013 Octavia RS at the Goodwood Festival of Speed that will take place in England next July.  Now in its third generation, the Octavia RS is the Volkswagen-owned firm's performance-focused mid-range sedan.
Škoda is keeping its lips sealed about the Octavia RS, promising only that it will be the fastest street-legal model it has ever built.  However, leaked images reveal that the range-topping RS gains a host of aerodynamic upgrades including more aggressive bumpers on both ends, a trunk-mounted spoiler and side skirts.  A mesh grille, alloy wheels and two chromed exhaust tips add a finishing touch to the sedan's track-bred look.
Expect the interior to feature leather-upholstered bucket seats, a RS-specific instrument cluster and a flat-bottomed steering wheel.
Technical details are not known but rumors claim the third-gen RS will be powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder TFSI engine that makes 220 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. of torque. Â A less powerful diesel-powered variant of the RS is also said to be in the works.
More details about the 2013 Škoda Octavia RS (dubbed vRS in the United Kingdom) will be released in the weeks leading up to the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
