Skoda, a Volkswagen-owned Czech car company that dates back to 1895, will enter its fifth continent and 100th country in October when it launches in Australia. Skoda will sell a nearly full line of cars in Australia, initially from 12 dealers, when it launches.
Although the closest a U.S. or Canadian car shopper can get to buying a Skoda is Mexico, the automaker has not concrete plans to further import cars into North America. Rumors abound, however, with the domestic car market taking an increased interest in the kind of inexpensive, fuel efficient cars that make up most of the Skoda line.
Skoda will officially launch at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney on Oct. 11.

Just as I suspected, there’s no Skoda dealers in Mexico. SEats though. Costa Rica’s the closest. But maybe Mexico has old rusty ones from down south in Mexico. Skoda’s design looks like Europe’s answer to US’s Mercury. It just works a wee bit better over there.
