Chrysler's newly-independent SRT division unwrapped its
flagship Viper earlier this month at the New York International Auto Show, but what brief glimpses of the coiled-up snake we were given revealed only a red paint scheme.
Now, a bright yellow
SRT Viper has been spotted on the streets of suburban Detroit, where it was undergoing some sort of shakedown testing ahead of the car's launch later this year.
According to our spy photographer, SRT didn't begin pilot production of the made-in-Detroit Viper (one of only a few Chrysler vehicles to be able to legitimately claim such heritage) until after its New York debut. In part, the late pilot production date was to keep spy photographers from nabbing the car ahead of its formal unveiling at the auto show.
A whole palette of bright shades will almost certainly be on offer when the Viper hits dealers later this year.
