Spied: 2007 BMW 328i/335i M Sport package?

05/11/2006, 4:37 PM

By admin

BMW just unveiled its 2007 3-Series Coupe in late April, and already it appears the German automaker may already be putting the finishing touches on an M Sport package for the car. A Munich-based BMW fan from the E90Post forums snapped two pictures of a car he found parked in the city. While we can’t tell for sure if the car is the work of BMW or perhaps a third-party tuner, there are some clues that suggest it comes from the automaker. The fact that the new coupe is not yet on the market would mean only the most exclusive tuners would have access to it — and even that seems unlikely. Moreover, the BMW badges on the car are covered by painted tape — a typical practice of the automaker. See the two images after the jump…

That’s the m-sport package for sure, as indicated in this thread from e90post.com

So what do you guys think about it? Front kit makes it look a litle more 5-series and the rear looks interesting except for that odd lip spoiler. It would be great if this or any M package would include the integrated CSL-style trunklid but not likely to happen I’m sure…

The front sort of looks like an angry barn yard animal to me.

i doubt its something from BMW. ACS or Alpina usually gets these cars before the public does. IMO i think its an ACS kit

Is EVERY new car design ugly?

Apparently so, if you’re a poster to Leftlanenews.

This looks GREAT!

This is so much better than that ugly regular 3 series coupe. I hated the straight line over the exhaust on the regular version. It looked idiotic.

BUT THIS IS GREAT! Make it standard BMW!

Now I see lots of RS4 details Yahoo. Obviously the front lip but more over the line from the top of the headlight which goes all the way down to the very bottom of the front splitter forms a Trapezoidal shape a la the new Audi look, but just not as defined. Also, the rear with the split dual exhausts coming from underneath rounded bodykit cut-outs look eerily similar to RS4. But at least we’re comparing a 3-series coupe to the RS4 and not the new M3(at least yet…)

#10 – well said!! it seems people complain about every new design. or they say “its looks like the rear of a ‘93 maxima” or camry, etc… at some level, everythings been done and can be called derivative.

Looking at the air intakes, it looks liks a schnitzer´s design. They are almost identical to those on their 6-series tuning program

Too bad the states don’t normally get to order the M package. Wish BMWNA would let you though.

While BMW does offer an M Sport package for the E90 3 series sedan and E91 3 series sport wagon in Europe, and most likely will offer one for the new E92 3 series coupe, I don’t think this is it. It looks too “tunerish” to me. M-Technic body kits are more subtle than that.
