About Volvos being built “better than 100% of the cars built in America” …..

…. that does not jive with the fact that every Volvo in the parking lot at work is constantly broken down and in the shop, whereas my Ford truck and other people’s Fords/GMs rarely are in comparison. When mine is, it’s for routine service.

Nope. Volvos are pieces of **** alright. Pre-Ford-purchase and Post-Ford-purchas Volvos. All of them.

anti_analog – I think that’s funny. What I find even more hilarious is the fact that the guy is wearing a DeWalt hat, has way to tight of jeans and a FREAKING Wallet Chain… who wears those anymore?! A WhiteTrash Volvo Engineer? No wonder they suck so bad.

If Volvo’s are ever built as ****ty as my GM products have been, then they’ll have a serious problem. They have a ways to go before that happens though.

Volvos are better built than 90% of cars built in Europe and 100% of cars built in America.
It´s true that they´re not at the level of Audi. They also need to put some passion on their cars.
The 850 T5R was an incredible machine though it was too powerful for being a FWD.

Ricardo, Volvo’s are indeed built like ****. In fact, they are worse than Audi which is a nightmare on the service side. But Volvos are actually quite comfortable to drive and their turbo versions are enough to make you the fastest guy on the freeway.

I don’t get it. Am I the only person in the world who yawns when he sees a Volvo? Once in a blue moon they have something interesting, but basically their cars put me to sleep.

And they are built like **** too.

Anyone else find it slightly hilarious having the guy with the NOS shirt standing as such that the arrow on his shirt is pointing at the Volvo?
It makes me think, could they make the camo on these cars further visually disruptive by putting tons of hilarious ‘performance’ stickers all over them?
Probably a waste of time, but it looked funny in my mind, so I thought I’d share…
And on the subject of the dual exhausts, I wouldn’t trust those since people put dual exhausts on darn near anything these days, but if this is an s80 based car I’d expect the V8 to make it more appealing to those people who seem to think that sort of thing neccissary in a luxury car.

Renton – I doubt that’ll happen. Volvo will continue to pursue the conservative FWD market… though they’ve made huge inroads in the AWD market.

I do recall a time when Volvo’s were RWD.

I agree Zhenya.

Also, I hope they address the current XC shortcomings. It needs better brakes, a more buttoned-down suspension (except 4-C), and engine options (the V8 would be nice… but they might save that for the V70R).
