Spied: BMW prepping minor facelift for 2008 6-Series

11/08/2006, 6:28 PM

By admin

BMW is preparing a minor facelift for the 2008 6-Series coupe and convertible. The 6-Series first came on the market as a 2004 model and undergoes a minor restyling mid-cycle.

Most of the changes will probably only be noticeable to diehard Bimmer fans. Our two photos show a prototype at the Nürburgring in Germany featuring a new front bumper with new air intakes and some changes at the rear end like bumper and brakelight. Gallery after the jump…

That rear end is much nicer for its subtle re-profiling

Still looks like a fat ass/hoop dress style. Yawn. Everyone is doing it now, from Volvo, to MB, to Lexus & Toyota, and BMW. Boring, boring, boring!

minor is an understatement… they must be pretty satisfied with their original.

The front of this beast looks amazing. If only they would fix the back.

Brazilian Butt lifts run about 3-4 grand, BMW should consult a plastic surgeon.

Why doesn’t this thing look more like the Z9 concept? That would fix the rear end. And pretty much everything else. Its basically just an uglier version of this car:

Those droopy, tear-filled sad-girl headlamps are the worst detail on a sloppy and bulbous design…

The old 635CSi was sweet in its day…this POS is Bangled at it’s worst.

They call this a facelift? Its even more subtle than the “new” E-class Benz. Come on guys.. German model cycles are among the longest, couldn’t they at least give us new headlight shapes or hood contours every 4 years or so?

MyGodBeatsYourGod, Bangle had nothing to do with the 6′er — it was all Adrian Van Hooydonk.

No Bangle?Maybe that’s why the back is nice and clean like the early Accord hatchback. That was a pure design. The 3rd generation Honda Accord.Clean.
