it looks like a car that some kid got hold of and took it to some shop that did this to it. I looks OK but those port holes have GOT TO GO. I looked at some peoples vehicles on cardomain.com and so many cars have port holes on them. These idiots don’t know that port holes are for buicks only.

The xlr weighs about 400lb. less than the SL500. The xlr-v weighs about 500lb. less than the SL55 AMG. If anything, the Mercedes roadsters are the ones that need to lose weight.

sorry asiminator just woke up and got moving man those 4 cups of coffee are kicking in, makes perfect sense to me, the weight has to be transfered somewhere, but wouldnt the rear end of the awd system add some weight to compensate, and do they use a different engine block from the 2.4l or is it poked and stroked to the 4.2 with a tt system?
A4 you should know the answer to this question.
mr.55amg not to start a flame war here but have you driven a new caddy lately? i havnt driven a v series, but they stick to the curves as good as any competitor, but as always the caddies will be slightly underpowered compared to the eurocars.

V series caddys suck. they have nothing on AMG, M-sport or Audi RS. this looks good but probably has rubbish performance anyway since its a caddy

Maybe this is an engineering mule, for the next gen SRX. Didn’t the SRX follow the CTS, in the first wave of new style Caddies? It would make sense that this would be the next SRX, following that pattern. Or maybe this SRX body is hiding the mechanicals of the upcoming CTS coupe or sportwagon?

audi is entirely capable of making a good-handling car with a big, fat 4.2L engine shoved in the front with AWD. just look at the RS4. many people find it comparable to the M3 even.

basically its about handling… if you consider that an rs6 is based an a6. Audi sells far more standard a6s than they do of their performance cars so the design is based around a basic 2.4L engine with fwd. In order to keep handling acceptable on a fwd car they need put the engine as far forward as possible. this keeps the front wheels down during acceleration. The down side is that the weight distribution gets screwed with a high percentage of the cars weight sitting on the front axle. Now take this very same car stick a 4.2L twin turbo engine in it… you obviously have to make it 4wd.. (you have no other option) and you are left with what would otherwise be a great wagon except for the fact that the engine is still in the wrong place due to the base model! Mercedes and BMW both make RWD base models….

Good for Caddy. I like how GM is trying to establish itself as the performance leader. They’ve been attacking each of the performance leaders out there. This SRX-V obviously aimed at Cayenne. If they upgrade the XLR, they might have something to topple the SL500.

Now thats a nice ass list of wagons there, audi is on a monumental roll nobody can stop the momentum, they just keep upping the bar, you know….the way bmw used too. the magnum is 50/50 in my book, i like it but dont at the same time.
there is really not much i can say for the srx because i havnt driven one yet, i just happen to like the art and science designs.
