You wouldnt find one in my driveway, but I dont think its all that bad to look at.
IMHO I think its better looking than many new cars, including several VW’s. But thats just my opinion.

Hey Fatstrat, I am not going to argue about the fact that “looks are subjective”. But wow, you have to at least admit that its a bit clownish and perhaps hurstish. Personally I would be very embarassed to drive one. I know its harsh for people who own them… but you must have to get a pretty sweet deal to pick up one of these.

Looks are subjective. not eveyone likes Picasso or thinks Pamela Anderson is hot.
These cars sell pretty well so some folks must like something about them. Not everyone needs/wants a Passat Wagon, which I think is an ugly car but I don’t insult people who like it. Unless someone was to like the looks of an Aztec, then I would insult openly.

Yeah I agree with Dan the Man and Bonquisha, not only is this car ugly (and I mean ugly), I don’t care if you dropped a twin-turbo V12 in this thing. It could out-perform a F1 car and I still wouldn’t give it a chance.

Probably one of the most hideous looking cars on the market. I can tell from the above posts that you guys enjoy this car’s styling but wow is it poor. A SS turbo will do nothing to enhance this car. Change the design. GM has to stick with their european designs. I know its been said a million times but make a hurst availble to the public is not cool. You guys can argue all you want, in the end, this car is disgusting.

The HHR is direct competition to the PT Cruiser, and slightly less so to vehicles such as the Mazda3 to the Honda CR-V.

I just can’t picture the HHR as an SS. It just doesn’t work, imo. By all means make a powerful version, but I really doubt it’s going to turn out to be sporty.

I’m really cooled off on the HHR front end. I thought it was a creative design, but I couldn’t learn to love it. Hopefully with the SS version they’ll clean it up a bit. GM I WANT TO LOVE YOU!!!

what’s with the checker camo :/ anyway, hm i was expect to find some kind of 6.xx litre V8 dumped into this.. hehe a turbo four banger sounds economical. uncharacteristically so. :s what market is this aimed at anyway? is it supposed to compete with the mercedes R-class and company?

How is the handling going to improve, that’s what I’m interested in. I’ve driven an HHR, and the steering feel/handling leaves much to be desired, naturally the amount of power does too, but clearly they’re going to be taking care of that aspect by using the Solstice GXP/Sky Redline’s turbo, so that leaves the handling to be taken care of

No doubt. I kinda like the HHR too. But adding more performance/fun to any car is almost always a good thing.
Hopefully GM keeps up this philosophy.
