However, the gist of my point is that it is not a GM first. The differences between the current and recent heavy duty Silverado/Sierra HD and regular Silverado/Sierra are more subtle. However, they are obvious to all but the blind eye, especially before the Silverado adopted the Avalanche grill and hood. However, I do not regard this as a particularly good thing. Ford's having essentially two completely different lines of pickup trucks within the F-Series increases costs. I don't have the sales figures before and after the bifurcation of the F-Series, but my anecdotal observations indicate no accompanying increase in sales to justify the increase in costs. Comparisons of the camoflaged new GM Heavy Duty trucks with their uncamoflaged regular siblings seem to show vehicles with a lot of common parts, especially doors, glass, etc. It will keep costs down and make repairs easier and less expensive.
