Actually 1966_GTO_ I was looking at shots of some 69 Mustangs, and 69 Chevelle’s and they actually do have the ignition mounted in the dash, so I don’t know about the GTO’s and Chargers and Challengers, I’m going to look but yeah do a google search and I’m seeing plenty of the old cars with ignitions mounted in the dash.

That is one hell of a boring interior.

To me though, this is more than just an enthusiastic project done by Chrysler. To me, this reflects the evolution of Chrysler since their purchase by Cerberus, and to me reflects how Chrysler will do in the future. Chrysler can’t manage to make this product crap, like they’ve done with virtually all their current models, save the 300 and minivans. A lot of Chrysler’s future rides on this car, the upcoming Ram and redesigns of their interiors. Honestly, that’s what their reputation, their profits, their whole business is riding on, and this will reflect Chrysler new colors.

Chrysler has no room to make this a modest product. It’s a road to ruin, and it’s very likely theres no turning back, and this product will very much so determine that.

This is the interior for their supercool muscle car for the 21st century? Apart from the fact that it looks cheap beyond belief, the design theme itself is awful! Looks striaght out of a mid nineties Japanese hatchback. Just what are they thinking???

Hmm well the shifter looks really cool? I thought the first SRT-8’s that were coming out were supposed to be autos? Hmm well the interior is… typical Chrysler… But I mean it is the Challenger so if performance is what you want then performance is what you get.

As opposed to what everyone else is saying I like the interior of the Camaro. I like how the speedo and odo are separated by Chrome square windows, and I especially like how the water temp, oil temp/pressure, and electricity guages are separated from the instrument panel and located down and in front of the shifter but that’s just me….

I still like the Challenger and the interior won’t matter to me.

What people have issue with is that the concept interior was driver-centric with its driver canted floor console, double-throw toggle like switches, and asymmetrical instrument cluster. These all add to the driver’s experience. Now, it simply made for left or right hand drivers dash setup designed by Turd Interiors.

Single CD players still make sense; a lot of people still listen to CDs, believe it or not. But I think CD changes will be on the way out, in favor of a single CD player which rips to an in-dash hard drive. Before long, I suspect that’ll become the norm.

TBP, not kidding, as USB ports are better and with flash drives increasing in capacity it is the way to go. No need for CDs any longer. I do not need DVDs in vehicles either (Mindless entertainment…blah! Who needs it!?). Hell, my washer, and dryer have computer ports on them (Miele).

The new faceplates are a non standard size so you will either need a retractable/flip up screen or a stand alone unit

Any chrysler owners out there know if that stereo is 1 1/2 or 2 DIN? I think Chrysler uses the 1 1/2 so you can’t use an aftermarket 2 din DVD/Nav system. And it looks like they’re doing it again, this is why Chevy always wins the SEMA awards. I hate loving you Chrysler!!!

I think it actually looks kind of nice. The air vents could use some more pizazz but the radio and HVAC controls look nice in my opinion. Its very simple, isnt that how muscle car interiors were back in the day?
