Italy’s Infomotori caught a single photo of what may be a prototype for the Lamborghini Gallardo facelift. The Gallardo is expected to be updated in the near future, possibly for the 2008 model year. The car is widely expected to get some performance enhancements to help further distance it from the forthcoming Audi R8, which shares its platform. While it’s difficult to tell what’s going on with the car in this photograph, it appears the carmaker is experimenting with design changes to the front of the car. We’ll keep you posted as more details emerge.

There’s not much done really. the headlighst kinda sink in the hood in the back a bit, that’s all I see. It still looks nice though. The color is pretty awesome!

Oh no, they’ve ruined it. I prefer the “older”, shorter headlight design.

I think it looks like a tuner
A. there isn’t really any ‘change’ besides the fact the headlights are a little longer, any tuner has the capabilities of doing that, however, i think lamborghini would have done a little more then just lengthin the headlights had they done the job
B. i highly doubt a company like lambo, which as little sales as they do, would do a ‘facelift’ of one of it’s current versions. 1 reason, there due for a new model soon, and theres many rumors going around already about there next model, i don’t think they’d take away from that just to do a face lift for a diablo. 2nd reason, it wouldn’t make sense for a company that does this few cars to do a ‘facelift’ how many ferarri’s and maserati’s and such have you seen come out with ‘facelift’s
Then again, who the hell knows, maybe it was lambo who did it, stranger things have happened
Besides that fact, i don’t think it looks bad, i don’t think it would sway my decision either way to buy this newer ‘facelifted’ version, if that is wat it is, over the ‘older’ ‘unfacelifted’ version
Personally, i believe lambo’s are true super cars for those who aren’t car enthusiasts. Everything they symbolize is that of a supercar. Ferarries and such don’t ’show-off’ as much as lambo’s in my opinion, and i think thats wat most people who aren’t enthusiasts are looking for

So the headlights will now go all the way back to the tail lights? It’ll be one symbiotic unit? That’s progress!

i dont think there will be much exterior change, but i bet the engine output will be boosted and it will have exterior changes discreetly on par with the LP640.

they moved the headlights back and stretched them. The front bumper is also more clean, and a little bit more angular. Other than that there probably aren’t any major interior, or performance changes.

That is correct, however given that practically everyone has a Ferrari now I don’t think we have a choice as where to go next. Porsche is definitely a step down as a showoff piece.
