I’m sorry, but the front end and side profile on the Quattroporte is ugly. The rear is okay. If you wanna see the perfect, sexiest looking 4 door in the world, google the Rapide.

I agree, but the tame back styling is a bit dated. They need to incorporate those badass Granturismo back on this sedan. Last month I saw 4 of those brand new Granturismos on the truck on the way to France and man those are real beauties… even if they’re technically inferior to anything else in their price range.

It looks like the grille is more prominently shark-nosed and the headlights are (hopefully) larger than the current model. I’m glad they aren’t messing with it too much.. this is one of the few recent luxury sedans whose styling was great right out of the box, and has held up admirably.

How or why do you improve mileage of this work of art on wheels? And what is the target of improvement? It suck gallon of premium for every 10 miles and if one can afford 110K before taxes and penalties for excessive appetite one can afford the thirst. After all improvements are finished it will economize all the way to 12 mpg; Uncle Sam will still tax you the same.

Scott: Always thought it was great looking car, but also think it looks like a Buick Riviera after a Italian massage.
Direct Injection rules, fools every where talking about fuel economy. Here is a system that gives 12-15% and similar gains in power. And makes an even greater difference in Turbo motors because of the cross cylinder chamber cooling effect. Add stop/start feature and you get another 5% in MPG. Cylinder de-act another 5-7%. Who needs complex hybrid with undisposable batteries and hefty weight.

The Maserati is a beautiful car but ownership is plagued by lack of a good dealership network as well as horrible waiting times for parts. Maintenance is a nightmare.

Wow—that is one subtle update.

This is probably going to be heresy to a lot of you guys, but I’ve always found the styling of this car to look old, in a Ford-ish kind of way. I’ve seen them in person several times, and they’re OK, but not what I’d expect for my $175K, or whatever they cost.

I agree that the Qporte is 4-door sex on wheels.. but I’ve always thought the weakest part of the design was the bland, undersized headlights. I’m sure the refresh will have a more dramatic front end not unlike the GranTurismo’s, and I’m guessing some GranTurismo-like triangular elements may make their way into the QPorte’s taillights too.

The Quattroporte hits most of the marks in my book, but it could still use a refresh. Although, I agree, you can’t really tell what’s been done here. I’ve thought the front grille needed work, maybe inject some GranTurismo into the design.
