Spy photographers spotted an unknown MINI mule on the back of a BMW transport earlier today. While its no mystery that MINI is expanding its lineup, the model this mule represents is. Whatever the mule is, it’s sporting a MINI front clip, taillights and overall MINI proportions.
According to our sources, the mule could be for the MINI Moke — basically an off-road version on the upcoming Crossman SUV. Rumor has it that the Moke model could also be spun into a pickup truck body style.
Two other possibilities for the mule include a retractable hardtop convertible, or another convertible model — dubbed the speedster — that would be a bit more stripped-down take on the sporting roadster.
What ever the mule turns out to be, it’s just more proof that BMW will continue to expand its MINI brand in the coming years.

I wouldn’t mind betting that it is a “Mule of a Mule” – in other words its the test bed for the new Mini Moke, which has been on the drawing board for some time at BMW/Mini.
The old original Moke was a very basic utility vehicle with soft top and no doors.
The other version that is bein currently tested in Europe is a Mini Utility, but whether that becomes reality will remain to be seen in thew ear future.
