Sharpie, point taken on the alphabet soup, however, why not have some creativity in the naming instead of the comedic nomenclature that’s so cheap sounding and bogus.

JackJimTurkey, nice try, but there’s no excuse for even bastardizing their own language. The words are still made up. I don’t know anyone who speaks latin as a native tongue these days. Let alone anglicized Japanese phonetic transmutations.

CleanGTO, I am tired of all the alphabet soup “names” Caddy, MB, BMW, Audi, Volvo, Jaguar, Lincoln, Acura, Lexus, Infiniti, et al. are using. I am not a mere number and neither should my car be. Names are fine, real or not. One thing they won’t have to worry is trademark right. The more weird the name, the easier it is to get a trademark. Can you imagine trying to get a trademark for a Toyota “Automobile” or Kia “Car”? Too generic to say the least.

How do we know they aren’t planning to bring this to the US to battle the Avalon? It looks a good sight larger than the new Maxima, which has gone the 4-door coupe route and made room for a full-size Nissan sedan. Too bad it looks like poo.

Corolla is Latin for “small crown”, and Camry is an Anglicized version for “kan-muri,” Japanese for “small crown”.

First. This doesn’t thrill me except in the respect that it’s not for the American market.

As a side thought, I’m personally tired of Nissan, Toyota, and Kia making up names for their cars. I mean, Intima, Altima, Sentra, Camry, Corolla, Sportage, Sephia – these words are not in the dictionary, nor are they poorly translated words to English, which would not only be excusable but also funny. Use a number designation or something. Sheesh.
