Spy photographers have spotted a Toyota Prius prototype testing in the southwest United States. While the restyle of the Prius isn’t expected to be major, it appears the new car will feature a revised front fascia. The new Prius will receive a new grill more in line with the Toyota -family face — as seen on the Camry and Yaris — as well as reshaped headlights. The changes should result in a much more mainstream styling treatment.
The rest of the Prius looks to continue on unchanged.

The new Prius was spied just one day after photographers captured the first images of the all-new Honda hybrid. The Honda hybrid is expected to go head-to-head with the Prius in 2009 and it appears as though Toyota is preparing for the competition.
