Spied: Saturn Vue Redline

01/05/2007, 11:57 AM

By admin

Spy photographers snapped some shots of the Saturn Vue Redline without disguise in Detroit. The Vue Red Line will ditch the current model’s Honda-sourced V-6 engine in favor of GM’s sophisticated, high-feature 60-degree dual overhead cam 3.6L V-6 VVT that delivers 250 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 243 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,400 rpm.

All Vue models equipped with V-6 engines receive the new Hydra-Matic six-speed automatic transmissions, which helps maximize powertrain performance and economy. Later in the model year, a five-speed manual transmission will be available, while all-wheel drive is available with all V-6 engined models. Gallery after the jump…

Hey Subaru called, they said the deal was off and you can’t use the WRX bumper anymore since you sold your stake in the company.

DOHC 3.6L with VVT and only 250 HP??!!! Don’t see any “high features” from that.

That’s actually very nice looking. The engine is a lot more powerful and doesn’t look as cheap as the previous model. Thumbs up, however I wouldn’t buy it favor of others in it’s class.

The 3.6 can do much better than 250hp, GM is starting to put it in everything. I would guess the Vue Redline would have 275hp. The 3.6 in the new CTS is rumored to put out 300+.

Wow. SOOOOO much better than the old cheap looking one! If I were in the market for a new car, I’d actually consider it.

Wow, that is really ugly. The Korean roots are really obvious. Too bad they stopped using the Honda V6 is it is a wonderful engine.

GM has been doing a bang-up job with most of their product lately but this one leaves me cold. I never liked the original Vue redline as I found it sort of silly looking. This one makes the last one look serious. The lower front fascia is really too much for this sort of vehicle, the stock one looks much better… gives it a more balanced look. This sort of has that whole vibe of a woman that’s supermodel beautifil in every way but has the nose of Steve Martin from Roxanne. I like the new Vue’s styling, but the Redline’s look just doesn’t cut it.

Ok then this is how the Antara OPC will look like. Not bad. I like how GM ditched the Honda engine for a “sophisticated” 3.6 v6 that generates 250 hp. I wonder when the GM engines will actually reach the sophistication of the Honda engines.

The new VUE will be a success. You can diss the 3.6 all you want. Most people don’t know that Saturn has been using Honda engines, and they won’t care.

All the bashing…. Maaann. Anyway, this model is not for everyone. This one adds a little spice to its look. The younger crowd will love it. I think it looks better than the current model.. Though some Dubs would do this RedLine some justice.

GMco took the words right out of my mouth.
have to say this is a step backwards from its previous styling
when i think of redLINE i think of angular and crisp not curvy and bloated

Hmm. I like it alot. Goes well with the sky. So, AWD is standard on V6 models? Or is front drive still standard?

always thought the current models were very nice looking. This one seems to take away some of the sporty looks of that one, IMO. Never have driven one though, so unsure of the driving dynamics.

As an extremely NON-CONSERVATIVE car enthusiast, I can say that this car looks very handsome and sporty without being garrishly boy-racer. Kudos to Saturn for keeping their renaissance rolling with full force!
