Yeah, no one cares or had ever cared about this brand..except people like me who own one. Nice work Spyker, now just revive the Viggen badge with modern design and AWD or RWD and you’ll see success.

Very good news! I hope Spyker gets its lower emissions requirements from Saab’s high volume cars… and I hope Saab gets some real pizzaz in its lineup (including a new Sonett sportscar) now that it is under the ownership of a supercar manufacturer.

howsmydriving – GM purchased SAAB in an attempt to get back at Ford for outbidding them when they were trying for Jaguar. That’s all. That’s how GM works. And its in the Motor Trend article as I mentioned above. They take $hits bigger than their a$$es can handle.

And if anyone wants to argue with me over the FACT that GM nearly destroyed SAAB with their badge engineered $hit like the 9-7X then read this last months issue of Motor Trend where it’s a known fact that it’s all GMs fault and it gives you the proof. Unfortunately I can’t find it on the website so I have to reference it through the magazine.

Anything is safe out of GMs deathtrap. That’s what they’re good for. Buying companies and killing them off. Well atleast now SAABs future is heading in a positive direction. I hope Spyker takes them to a new level like Volvos level.

On the contrary, Saab’s future is anything but secure. Saab had better forge alliances with other automakers, and pronto, because small automakers can’t do it alone. That’s why Saab was sold to GM in the first place.
