Studio Torino RK Coupe unveiled

08/17/2006, 7:49 PM

By admin

Studio Torino and Ruf Automobile have put together a customized Porsche Cayman with some pretty significant changes to the car’s roofline and bodywork. Limited to just 49 vehicles, the ‘RK Coupe’ puts down an impressive 440 horsepower. It has a top speed of 186 mph, and was inspired by the Porsche 904 and the Dino 246 GT. Gallery after the jump…

“inspired by the Porsche 904 and the Dino 246 GT” as in the FERRARI Dino?? Uh oh, what do you Porsche purists think about a Porsche which is partially yet directly inspired by a Ferrari??

It’s not supposed to be conisdered a Porsche.

It’s a Ruf. One that happens to be based of a Porsche and inspired by a Ferrari.

I dunno about the rear end since I think the Cayman is Porsche’s best design effort since the 996 Carrera. The Cayman’s design is hot as it is, with the fastback.

[...] Ruf, famous for their hot Porsche modifications have teamed up with Studio Torino to release a customized Cayman inspired by the looks of a Porsche 904 and a Ferrari Dino 246 GT. With 440 Bhp and a limited edition of 49 I doubt they will be cheap but what price exclusivity? Still think it looks like a Cayman though, not that there’s much wrong with that!! Via Slashgear [...]

Its not all about power. This car’s weight distrubution is better, and its just an all around better handling car. Weight can always be added, but good looks and engineering not neccessarily. Sweet car.

that’s perfect. Porsche fusses up their cars’ styling to distinguish models. This fixes all that. My favorite part is the new intake. It looks more like the original boxster concept’s from back in like ‘92. I love it. If the cayman actually looked like this, I’d get on the list for a 2.7 right now. somehow, somehow, I’d find the money.
