We were told yesterday by our district rep that this is pretty much a “go” for the 2010 Outback, from the beltline up. Sheetmetal work/design below is still up in the air. Can’t say I’m thrilled with the front end, but I don’t mind the profile.

Completely incoherent on the outside, much like every one of Subaru’s recent designs. Have they forgotten how to make cars that are a good kind of ugly?

The concept interior doesn’t flow with the exterior at all, whoever designed it should be fired.

It does look more in line with the next Forester. The grille on the current Forester is nasty! Overall, this is a nice concept. I see some Toyota in it though. How could Toyota be affecting product design since it was that long ago that they attained controlling shares in Subaru.

Anyway, design was never a strong suit for Subie. It has always been AWD and Boxer.

The windshield is far too upright. I’d be horribly disappointed if it was to show up on the next production Legacy.

Subaru Forester?

I don’t understand how Subaru can even get those (Subaru Foresters) off the lots! They are the most ugliest vehicles I have ever seen, nothing but a box, with quick fading paint, ugly interior and such an uninspiring design!

And yet, there’s something in this that evokes the same response about the Subaru Forester. It’s got a quickly inclining windshield/A pillar, tall roof and the back is very flat. The rest of Subarus designs are more seemless and much better, so why not this one (or the Forester)?

i like white leather but i know that is not practical
anyways, i just got a 2008 legacy, and if this come out and if they fix it to the good side (as they probably not going to)
i believe i will get another one

I love the interior even though it will never make it to production. The rest of the car is OK looking.

Veda has a great point, the concept front end looks great, unlike the new production Impreza. This will be a great competitor when it’s released if they keep the 3rd row seat option. It will be a tough competitor versus the other bogus crossovers that are way too large.

If they have used that front on the new Impreza, they’d probably be sold out right now. What the hell, they can do modern production-like designs on their concepts but not on the actual cars?

aside from the blue accent and the overdone scoop, I like the front. The side profile should be a little brawnier… a more prominent beltline and bulkier fender flares might help.

The back end doesn’t really do it for me. The tail lamps look great, but the diffusers are kind of cheesy for this type of car.
please give this car some hips, or make the roofline more sporty.

It’s Legacy/Outback with smaller rear quoter window. Yep. sort of like Matrix. Look ma, there are 2 TVs: one for kids in the back and pornos for daddy!
