Subaru parent Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. expects to significantly grow its United States sales next year as the overall auto market continues its rebound towards pre-crash levels.

Sales next year will definitely top this year’s and reach about 300,000 units,” Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. president Yasuyuki Yoshinaga said in an interview at the Tokyo Motor Show. “Sales in the U.S. may beat last year’s as early as this year.”

Through the first 10 months of the year’s Subaru’s U.S. sales have dipped slightly to 215,631 vehicles. During the same period last year Subaru sold 216,334 units.

Subaru’s U.S. Sales should get a boost in 2013 as the automaker plans to adds a hybrid vehicle to its lineup. Subaru has yet to announce which vehicle will receive the hybrid treatment.
