It sure didn’t take long for Subaru to make it known that it has its marketing and communications covered after the departure of Kevin Mayer to Chevrolet, announcing an internal replacement within hours.
When Kevin Mayer left Subaru to head up marketing for Chevrolet, Subaru says it had an easy decision to make by appointing Alan Bethke to the position of director of marketing communications.
Bethke first joined Subaru in 2003 in the role of a district sales manager after leaving Suzuki, and after working his way up through several positions regarding sales and marketing, Bethke has now landed the top spot for marketing. Bethke’s most recent position within Subaru prior to his promotion was that of marketing planning and operations manager, making the transition an easy move.
“Alan is a natural choice for the position,” said Tim Mahoney, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Subaru of America, Inc. “He has been part of a marketing communications team that has propelled the Subaru brand to record levels of awareness and market share.”
Bethke will begin reporting to Mahoney in early October.
