Eager to get a share of the ever-growing Russian market, Subaru traveled to the Moscow Motor Show to unveil a limited edition of the Forester crossover dubbed tS, an acronym that stands for Turbo Sport.

The Forester tS wears the same dark blue paint job and gold wheels as Subaru's iconic Impreza WRX STI, giving it a sporty and race-bred look. It features a lowered ground clearance, a trunk-mounted spoiler and aggressive bumpers on both ends.

The STI influence continues on the inside with brushed aluminum pedals and a STI emblem prominently affixed to the center of the steering wheel. Shift paddles, a keyless ignition and front bucket seats all come standard.

To obtain a more responsive ride both on and off road, Subaru engineers fitted the Forester with beefier brakes, stiffer steering and a sport-tuned suspension.

The tS package isn't merely a bundle of aesthetic modifications: under the hood lies a turbocharged 2.5-liter flat-four engine that makes 263 horsepower and 256 lb-ft of torque. Linked to a five-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels, the flat-four propels the Forester from zero to 62 mph in 6.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 139 mph.

Designed exclusively for the Russian market, the Forester tS will be limited to just 99 examples that will be sold online on a first come, first served basis. Each one will retail for 2,130,000 Russian rubles, or about $65,700.
