Subaru vehicles are best-known for their foul-weather prowess, but not everyone needs the rugged ability to traverse six-inches of freshly fallen snow. In recognition of that relatively untapped market segment, Subaru has unveiled the Legacy GTk at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
Designed with the “performance and cargo hauling capability of a Subaru without the mudâ€, the Legacy GTk is aimed at the driving enthusiast that occasionally needs to haul larger items. To demonstrate the concept’s hauling capacities, Subaru designed a one-off go-kart to fit in the GTk’s (k for kart) rear cargo area.

To ensure the GTk handles as good as it looks, Subaru teamed with HRE Performance Wheels and BFGoodrich Tires. HRE created a one-off set of 19-inch wheels for the GTk, with BFGoodrich supplying a set of its G-Force T/A KDW tires, size 245/50.

Subaru cranked up the Legacy’s 2.5L turbocharged boxster engine to 300 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque for the GTk concept, employing larger Brembo brakes to reign in that added power.

Specialized Vehicles, Inc. provided the Legacy GTk’s unique red and black paint scheme – as well as the car’s custom exhaust – with Recaro adding a set of sports seats.
