The BRZ sports coupe may be getting all the attention at the Subaru stand at the Tokyo Motor Show, but the automaker also unveiled another little gem at the biennial show – the Impreza WRX STI S206.
Representing the latest in STI’s line of “S”series vehicles, the S206 receives a number of styling a performance improvements.
The exterior of the S206 is highlighted by a unique front spoiler, fender-mounted vents, trunk lid spoiler and 19-inch BBS wheels.
Underhood STI engineers have balanced the car’s flat-four engine, tweaked the ECU and fitted a sports exhaust system. The result of those changes nets 315 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque.
In order to keep the shiny side up, the S206 has also been equipped with Bilstein shock absorbers, STI coil springs, a flexible front tower bar and a flexible front draw stiffener.
S206 buyers can also opt for Subaru’s “NBR Challenger Package”, which adds a carbon roof and a carbon spoiler.
Subaru will limit Impreza WRX STI S206 production to just 300 units, which includes a maximum of 100 cars equipped with the optional NBR Challenge Package. The S206 will be sold exclusively in the Japanese market.
