A thinking man’s high performance RS series of Audi. Same performance at a reasonable price. The STi wagon is definitely the pick here. Too bad GM chickened out on a nice techical partner.

I’m impressed with the speed that this site picked this up. I think it only went up on the STI website a few days ago.

This is a 2.0L turbo. But there are no mods to the engine, it’s the same as on the regular 2.0L turbo legacy GT (there is no 2.5 in Japan). The torque curve on this engine is amazing. The best part of this package are the brakes and the suspension arm upgrades. It isn’t cheap though
AT or MT sedan: 3979500yen
AT or MT wagon: 4116000yen

That’s without the McIntosh sound system or the nav.

There’s no chance this will come to the US because of the emissions and crash test requirements. Some of these upgrades might be possible on the 2.5 but I’m not sure.

Very nice… I’ll take two! I wonder, though, whether this is a 2.0L or a 2.5L. It would be nice if they did the Forester trick and ‘STi’ tuned a 2.5L… Even if it didn’t get more then 280hp, the torque curve would be phenomenal.

I’d drive it…it’d perform well, handle well, and be stealthy to boot.

Of course, you can just add a few parts to the 2.5l turbo legacy engine and have 300hp easy as well here in the states.
