Subaru has announced a new partnership with Sirius XM Radio, making satellite radio service optional on it full lineup of 2012 model year vehicles. All 2012 Legacy and Outback Limited models will come standard with a factory-installed satellite radio as part of the partnership.

Customers purchasing a 2012 Subaru model with satellite radio will receive a four-month complimentary subscription to the XM Select package. Buyers of vehicles equipped with factory navigation will also receive a four-month subscription to Sirius XM’s NavTraffic services.

“Subaru is very pleased to offer our customers entertainment and data services from Sirius XM,” said Thomas J. Doll, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Subaru of America.  “Sirius XM satellite radio and NavTraffic bring value to our vehicles and also benefit the adventurous, outdoor lifestyle of our customers.  The feature has proven to be quite popular on our fast-selling 2011 Legacy and Outback models, so it made sense to expand availability to more Subaru customers.”

Subaru added that it expects Sirius XM to eventually become standard across its model line.
