YES! Bring on the diesels! Superior diesel technology is breaking out all over and those car companies who don't see this are doomed to continuing to be at the bottom of the market. Gasoline hybrids are faddish expensive toys. E85 is a midwestern farmer's wet dream but a drop in the fuel bucket bust for the rest of the country. Biodiesel and diesel hybrids that get in excess of 100 mpg are the true bridge fuel and current technology to future energy sources (think fusion)....

Subaru hasn't looked so good since they left GM. Now maybe they'll be more competitive instead of being another rape case by GM like Isuzu, Saab and Suzuki.

GM knows how to destroy brands. At least they are superior at something.

subaru, crappy engines? those things are bullet proof. I know several people with over 200K miles on their subies. Say your opinions on their style (or lack thereof) but their engines are great. Also to the torque comment, their 2.5L turboed gasoline engine gets 250 Ft-lbs of torque already. I'd think that this is to improve gas mileage over anything else.

Subaru F-d up when they didn't accept platform sharing with GM. That was their loss and now they are going to rot in hell since they are no longer under the superior GM umbrella.

Take care losers, your about to be destroyed by the American Revolution like the rest of the world.

Wouldn't it be cool if they put a 2.5L turbo diesel in the Imprezza WRX ? It could easily hit 230-250hp but lots of torque ! Say about 350-400Nm (260-300Lbs/ft) should be possible.
