I drive a 2005 Subaru Legacy GT Limited wagon with a 5-speed manual transmission. I bought it 6 weeks ago for $21,800 with 18,000 miles in almost perfect condition. I have a ‘02 WRX and it’s still as much fun as a box of kittens. Ford went upmarket with the Mustang, the Camaro is dead, and Beemers are too expensive for my budget. Toyota – yawn, great transportation appliances, but no passion. Honda has the Civic Si but honestly I’d rather have all 4 wheels driving when it snows out.

If you want an affordable car you can take to the track (not the straight, 1/4-mile one, the one with curves), with loads of bolt-on accessories, and also drive through a blizzard, the WRX is the only game in town. If you have the extra coin, the STi version is nice, too, but then you are in the 30K range where you can talk Mitsu Evo, even used Beemer for track fun (and Mustang GT). That’s why they are cleaning up in sales — it’s a lot of car for not a lot of $$$.

The only thing I don’t like about the WRX is the no standard boost gauge thing, and the option to get it is way overpriced, but the aftermarket is pretty good for getting one if you want one.

Ugh, why do people buy Subarus? Ever since GM dumped that worthless pile of a brand, Subaru has gone down the toilet. They should have listened to Bob Lutz and accepted sharing platforms and technology with us in the market. At least GM has some worthwile platforms to work with. Imagine the awesome Pontiac G6 with Subaru AWD? That would have been the coolest ride on the market. Or a GMT-360 with a fine inline-6 instead of the super ugly Tribeca. They may have even gotten a Lambda under the Subaru name and everyone knows that the new Lamdas are going to be the shiznit that will put everyone else to shame. Kiss that pile of crap you call the B9 Tribeca goodbye as everyone will be dumping them for a new Lambda along with everyone dumping their X5’s, ML,s, MDX, Pilots, Highlanders, Q7’s or other low grade POS.

Subaru is garbage now that they are no longer associated with us. Record sales only prove that there are still a ton of idiots who are missing out on a superior GM offering. Things will change jsut you wait. The American Revolution is taking names and destroying the competition. And now that you (Subaru) are no longer associated, you will be destroyed with the rest of the crap out there.

It’s Subieland in the Pacific Northwest. The vehicles are well suited for the outdoorsy people. Though I don’t own one, I’ve considered getting an Outback countless times. The interiors put me off a bit. For a 24k vehicle, the interiors are a little behind IMO (though still better than the car I currently drive). I read Subaru’s U.S. plant is running at full capacity now?

As a WRX owner, it’s nice to finally hear that Subaru is moving vehicles at a time when the Big 3 are losing millions per month. The reliability of my 02 WRX has been incredible and it’s the first year they brought them to the US. I’m sure the newer 05’s and 06’s will have even better reliability as kinks get worked out. What a fun car to drive in ANY weather! You just can’t beat it in adverse weather conditions.

The legacy was too rough and overpriced for me but the WRX is a modern day classic, Fantastic automobile.
