GetReal: my stepfather and by uncle years ago rebuilt the engine on a then-ancient subaru.

I knew another guy who bough a $100 subaru and drove it for 8 more years

2006 Legacy spec.B owner and I like the car and I’m glad I bought it. Having said that, I fully expected to spend around $4k in the aftermarket before I left the dealer lot. The suspension is far too soft and though the power is adequate, I would like it to be 300+bhp, which is not hard to do with exhaust and tuning.

Subaru does not make good cars, people here have obviously NEVER had to take one apart. Try to get into the engine to save your car from the junkyard, Good Luck…..Now you have to go to the dealer and spend the trade-in value of your car to repair it.

Anyone here also read the head-gasket problems they are having with these Subaru ? People are fed up with this car.

I own a 2005 Subaru Legacy GT 5-speed and it is in many ways a horrible car. The structure creaks and it handles like a speed boat. The engine is a gem and intieior is swank, but this is my last Subaru.

I hate the 2008 WRX lineup – They look like a boot on wheels..not sure what Subaru was thinking when they drafted the company plan.

Subarus are nice they are expensive but nice That new Tribeca looks generic but they had to make it that way for sales. I cant wait to see one on the road Subaru Legacy is just as good as any Mazda and my mechanic told me they are tanks so with less confusing trims and a lower price they might be up there in sales with Honda and Toyota

Subaru has the most confusing models of any car manufacturer I have seen. I think if you take the words “Impreza”, “Outback”, and “Legacy”, Subaru has made a car out of every possible combination of those words.

Stop confusing people and stop making ugly cars.

So much ado about nothing — what’s really changed here? Now we have a base Outback wagon without all the cladding of the upper level models.. essentially the old Legacy wagon. And there probably won’t be a clad version of the Legacy sedan since the Outback sedan didn’t sell. And they ALL have AWD anyway, so the supposed extra capability of the Outback isn’t really a valid argument.

Hopefully, limiting the Outback name to the Legacy wagon will prevent Subaru from inflicting us with a Outback Sport version of the hideous new Impreza!

this is crap subaru im sure they dont cost you much to build, if i ever bought a new outback it would be the sedan, and if i ever bought a wagon it would be a black legacy 2.5 GT. A shame you backed out of these niche markets. Nobody else has an off-road sedan.

The Baja is gone. There’s no ‘07. (Your – rather, Our – prayers have been answered, Jordan.)It’s just still on Subaru’s website because they have too many leftovers.
The Outback sedan made NO sense AT ALL! Outbacks should be wagons and Legacies should be sedans. No mixups! Ugly body cladding shouldn’t make a car an Outback or anything for that matter. Audi figured that out a little sooner by pulling the Allroad from the US lineup. THey could have at least called it the “A6 Allroad” like they do in other countries.
