And when all you sad little haters recover from your fits of envy, you might want to know that this version of the WRX can jump to 344 ft/lbs of torque (that's to four wheels, remember) with just an intake and the Subaru-made SPT exhaust; thats more wheel torque than a GT500 or Corvette, from 2.5 liters. I'll agree with the rest of you that they missed the styling cues this time out (it looks best in black, which helps hide the hood scoop) but what makes the WRX a giant-slayer is intact and ready to be tapped. Unfortunately in Canada it starts at just a shade under $35,000 and I've found Subaru dealers to be among the least accommodating when it comes to the fine art of knocking heads on price. It's still bland, but it looks a lot sharper. I like the previous generation sedans better... but the hatchbacks always looked strange to me.
