Suzuki’s U.S. sales once topped the 100,000 unit mark, but the Japanese automaker hasn’t come anywhere close those figures in recent years. Brand awareness is one of the biggest issues facing Suzuki on these shores, which is why the automaker is turning to the biggest stage for its latest marketing effort.

For the second straight year, Suzuki will air a commercial for its Kizashi sedan during the Super Bowl. The latest spot, titled “Sled”, highlights the Kizashi’s available all-wheel drive.

“We are delighted to celebrate our successful 2011 sales year with an 11 percent increase, by once again showcasing the personality of the Suzuki brand and our award-winning Kizashi sport sedan on advertising’s biggest stage,” said Jeff Holland, director of social media, American Suzuki. “The Kizashi’s all-wheel-drive performance and luxurious interior make it the perfect choice for those looking to upgrade their ride.”

Developed by  Siltanen & Partners Advertising, the 60-second spot features an Eskimo trading in his dog sled for a bright red version of Suzuki’s Kizashi AWD. We agree with the Eskimo’s decision and, truth be told, we like the Kizashi so much that we might have even traded the dogs too.

Look for the commercial to make its TV debut on February 5 during the Super Bowl.
