Leftlane reported just 10 days ago that a new world record would be attempted when Team Hot Wheels sent out a mystery man in a yellow suit to attempt the longest-ever jump for a four-wheeled vehicle during the Indy 500.

For those of you who were too busy barbequing to catch the Indy 500, you might have missed Tanner Foust jet down a 100-foot high ramp as he attempted to break the previous world record of 301 feet by a four-wheeled vehicle.

In true over-the-top Hot Wheels fashion, Tanner “Golden Child” Foust didn’t just break the record – he smashed it by jumping 332 feet. The jump began atop a larger than life “door” that was 100 feet high – intended to give the proper scale to the full-size truck being driven by Foust.

Hot wheels likely chose Foust for the job given his fairly extensive and diverse record of competitive driving, including a Formula Drift championship, a recent FIA European Rallycross championship and three gold models at the X Games – not to mention an extensive list of stunt roles in movies, as well as being a co-host for Top Gear USA.
