Funny. LR's quality is sooo bad. That is probably the bigger reason that their sales are slumping. Owners get dismayed and don't come back!

JayC, CA is just as bad as NY, and since we're so close to CA, NV is really bad, too. We have to be strict just in case someone from CA comes up to buy a used car, or in case someone from NV wants to travel to CA.

Very smart move by Tata. I had thought they would choke supply some, but seeing that demand has dropped...

Beyond that though, I doubt most of you know a stink about LR quality. The sole reason for LR's quality being in the dump was because of two vehicles, and they let the problem swell up between those two. Electronic reliability has been an issue for nearly all vehicles in the past 10 years, from Honda to Land Rover. VW just messed up big time in terms of the wiring quality. But most people probably see it in different ways; for example, my most recent vehicle is a 96' Ford F-150. Not to say it's been prone with issues, its a really nice truck, but it hasn't been nearly as reliable as most other vehicles I've bought. Anyways, I had to bring it into the shop only a while ago, it wouldn't pass emissions because of the engine light going off (NY is ridiculous in terms of emissions, it gets me pissed the frequency they make you have these tests and the cost. ALL of NY seems to be that way). You know what the engine light was going off from?

An air leak in the gas cap. That's what I view as an electronic issue.

And someone explain how Hummer is a lost cause. It's only better at meeting consumer demands compared to yesterday. H1 is gone, which was a liability issue for GM in this day of age, the H2 exists in small demand and continues to meet that demand and the H3 is a great SUV, if not a little heavy, plain and thirsty.

yea, all the info ive gathered about LR points at shoddy quality and poor after sales service.
Its such a shame as the cars are great to look at and in theory promise much, however if your gonna ask people to part with their money you gotta deliver. With cars, its all about the AFTER SALES.

Formerly, okay, decades ago Land Rover was the consummate vehicle in its class for those who wanted a bit more. It would be nice to see it regain its distinction, but I do question how it can do so as its distinction is very much a cultural aspect as is Jaguar's.

Maybe they could use a few Land Rovers to look for a new site to build the Nano. Either that or drive over the farmers protesting the current site.
