Our sources have revealed to us that Tesla is planning to open a new showroom in Dania Beach, Florida, about halfway between Fort Lauderdale and Miami. The store would be Tesla’s sixth North American location and its second on the East Coast, following the recent unveiling of a New York location last month.
Though Dania Beach might seem like an odd location for a high-end electric sports car manufacturer, its proximity to Fort Lauderdale International Airport and its central location in the greater South Florida metropolitan area were undoubtedly major factors in Tesla’s decision. Dania Beach is about halfway between the upscale enclaves in Miami and Fort Lauderdale and it’s within 50 miles of Palm Beach, expected to be one of Tesla’s biggest markets.

Our source did not reveal exactly where in Dania Beach the showroom will be located. We do expect it to operate like the automaker’s other stores in that it will offer only demonstrator models, not a stock of cars for sale.
