The truth about the new Toyota Supra

02/16/2006, 10:15 AM

By admin

A series of magazine scans have begun circulating on automotive fan sites purportedly on the next-generation Toyota Supra. We’re not sure what all the fuss is, because these images have been making the rounds online for several months now. From what we’ve gathered, these images are purely speculative and not based in reality whatsoever. If Toyota is going to build a new Supra — a big “if” — it is much more likely to be based on the Lexus LF-A concept. However, the strongest indication is that any supercar from Toyota will be branded as a Lexus, and very well could be the LF-A (which has already been spied in testing). The LF-A is expected to go head-to-head with the 2007 Infiniti GT-R.

I saw pictures of this earlier this week, and noticed it on another site dated 2-8-06. This week was the first time I’ve ever seen these pics. There are pics of the rear that look pretty similar to the LF-A… I really hope toyota gets it together and puts this out. It would be a total knockout if they did…

I’ve seen pictures of this model for months as well but theres been rumours about a new supra for about a year now. This model looks nothing like the old MKIV Supra, which i adore and will miss. I hope Toyota does put this car into production by 2008 and i hope it’ll look more like the MKIV. But, still it’ll be a great even if they don’t.
