Every now and again a story breaks that manages to bewilder and amaze - this is one of those times.

A sheriff in Carlsbad, New Mexico, recently pulled over a driver of a Honda Civic and in the process spotted a 220-pound calf sitting in the backseat. The best part? As the Associated Press points out, the young cow was actually sharing the seat with one of the three alleged thieves.

The three men were all arrested on suspicion of larceny of livestock, conspiracy, lack of a bill of sale and exporting livestock. While the crime may seem funny, the law certainly doesn't see it that way. Both the larceny and conspiracy charges are considered felonies.
