I Th!nk car will be an excellent choice car for commuters and it will have a market much to your nay-mayer-sayers chagrin!

I think I may want one. if the price is right since Ford is slow on the electric end and no other real affordable Electric yet as we speak

I checked out Th!nk's web site, I'm pretty impressed. There are some better pictures of the car, it's not great looking but it still looks much better than some of the asian countries could come up with. The idea is a good one and like Car-Dude44 said, it's a start. I like it, if it could reliabably get 106 miles per charge that could easily get me to work and back (about 40 miles round trip) and I could do all my errands on the way home.

Sure this car is pretty ugly, but this is a time where we need more electric (or clean) cars on the road. Those cars end up having to be small, but eventually they could be bigger and better, so this is a start.

"Ford owned Th!nk from 1999 until 2003, but sold the company after California dropped its zero-emissions regulations."

So that's why the car in the picture looks like a squashed Focus.

If it has even 50 miles range in cold weather and traffic, it is a great find as a commuter. I think that 80-90% of people commute less then that.It would be great if companies would provide charging for employees for trip home (8-9 hours should replenish battery).
This car shows how stupid Ford is: it could been easy win, but degenerates can't see beyond their noses. This car is also splash of fresh pis into GM (Lutz) face: tiny company from country that does not have automotive industry could do it!

It's hard to find fault with another economical option in the auto market.. but it is quite a stretch to call the 2009 Th!nk City a "new" car.. considering Ford was distributing a brochure of this identical car (and its golf-cart cousin, the Th!nk Neighbor) at US auto shows back in 2002 when they still owned the company!

Bottom line electric cars are not a replacement for gasoline powered cars. For fleet purposes maybe, if they are going to be charged by clean energy source otherwise they are useless.

I wonder if rolling down/up your windows with an electric window motor puts a strain on the engine like when you would turn your A/C on in an 80's model car.

Jumpofit, I'm going with you on the electric windows thing, it kind of irritates me too. I bet you could market it as an excerise solution like Chuck Norris, Richard Simmons etc, "The jumpofit fitness program by rolling down your windows"

I see, I thought I saw a price of 65K on an older post but I might have read it wrong. I still don't know what a "battery lease" is. But, I do still know what Sunoco 260 race fuel is.

Wait! I has the solution!
You have to make the battery removable and light enough to carry.
Not sure this will catch on unless it is in the suburbs where garages with outlets are a plenty.

I get that it is a "city car"...but what are you going to do to charge it? Run an extension cord out of your apartment window, around the block to the parking spot you lucked out on finding on the street?? It's small, but not small enough to carry up to your condo to charge it.

The Volt has NO stick on it, HRR. Lutz is saying it'll be closer to $40k, as opposed to $30k, but I wouldn't be surprised if it stickers for $35k when it's released.

The Th!nk costs more than a Smart, has only a 106-mi range, tops out at a speed that's lower than the freeway speed limit in most states, and doesn't include the battery lease and insurance costs.

The Volt is an electric vehicle with an engine that is only used to recharge the batteries on the go. It'll seat four adults and be about the size of a Chevy Cobalt.

The Th!nk is too small, expensive, and limited to even invite the comparison with the Volt. And I'm not sure where you're getting a $65k price tag for the Volt.
