Chrysler’s Mopar parts division has unveiled three “Moparized” creations at Chicago auto show. The modified cars will include the new Dodge Dart, Fiat 500 and Jeep Compass.
2013 Dodge Dart GTS 210 Tribute
The 2013 Dodge Dart has yet to arrive on dealer lots, but Chrysler’s Mopar division is already taking a crack at a modified version of the Alfa Romeo-based compact.
Available is two stage packages, the Stage 1 option focuses on the Dart’s overall style.
The Stage 1 appearance package adds several matte-black trim piece to the Dart’s exterior, including on the car’s front spoiler, side sills, rear diffuser and rear spoiler. The package also includes a carbon fiber hood with air scoop and 18-inch wheels.
Ruby Red dominates the GTS 210 Tribute’s interior, with the color used on the car’s Katzkin leather seat fronts, door panels, center armrest and map-pocket inserts. Piano black accents are used throughout the car’s interior.
The Stage 2 package focuses on the Dart’s performance. The package adds a new intake and exhaust system, as well as some engine management tweaking. The improvements raise the Dart’s stock 184 horsepower to 210 horsepower.
2012 Fiat 500 Stinger
Also available in two stage packages, the Fiat 500 Stinger treatment is intended to give the small car a little more style and performance.
Stage 1 of the package adds several accents of Black Chrome to the 500′s exterior, including on the car’s headlamps, front logo, door handles and mirror caps. Abarth Hyper Black 17-inch aluminum wheels with wider tires give the 500 a more planted look, while tinted lights and Mopar graphics crank up the 500′s visual appeal.
The car’s black accents combined with its Giallo (yellow) paint job explain the “Stinger” nameplate.
Inside that yellow and black theme continues with Giallo and black leather seats, carbon fiber instrument panel decal and Gloss Black shifter ball.
The Stage 2 Stinger package focuses on the 500′s overall performance, adding a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust system and performance brakes with cross-drilled rotors.
2012 Jeep Compass True North
Continuing Mopar’s blacked-out theme, the 2012 Jeep Compass True North is done up with a matte black finish on the roof, wheel flares, lower fascia, door cladding and front grille. Black light surrounds and matte-black 16-inch wheels compete the True North’s look.
The concept is based on a Trail Rated version of the Compass, but Mopar has given the car a bit more off-roadability with BF Goodrich All Terrain tires and a 2-inch lift kit from Rocky Road Suspensions.
Inside the Compass True North gets a few custom Mopar touches along with a new center stack that features pitch and roll inclinometer gauges. Mopar teamed with Kicker Audio for the True North’s sound system, transforming the Compass into “a rolling high-end sound studio.”
