Toyota today that it has no plans to build a factory in Germany. According to a report by Just-Auto, a Toyota spokesperson said there is “absolutely no truth” to the rumors. Lexus has said it plans to sell 45,000 vehicles in Europe in 2006. Rumors had suggested Toyota was preparing for an eventual volume of 100,000 cars yearly. Currently, Toyota builds most of its Lexus models in Japan, and some in Canada.

why build cars in germany, where the labor is more expensive then even switzerland, all the german makes are moving out of Germany to places like Alabama and South Carolina (Mercedes and BMW respectively)
