I love all the comments,

After reading them all, i guess an FJ is for the person who really wanted a hummer, but could not buy it.

I love my Hummer H3, can you imagine some nice rims on an FJ? I guess the hummer is for the following market:

Somebody who likes a mercedes/bmw european interior, who wanted a bigger vehicle, that could go off road, or to the river, without sacrificing luxury, or 4 doors... or spending $50,000.

Plus you cant even buy an fj with leather (not available), or moonroof (not available), or 4 doors (what gives?). Believe me I thought about the FJ cruiser (i never considered actually buying it though), but just imagine some 24's on that thing? youll be the laughing stock at any gathering....

But with my hummer h3, i have all the fj could give, plus whole lot more, and i got it fully loaded for $35,000 out the door....

ALSO, i would hope that people see what i see, and the FJ is not even in the same category as any hummer, please compare the fj to like, the jeep wranglers, or ford escapes, jeep liberty..

Please compare the h3 to land rover, acura mdx, bmw x3/x5, or lexus rh..

thanks!

The FJ will continue to "Trump" the hummer. It is a no brainer. Once folks get inside it and seee it they will be selling thier hummers for the FJ surely. The market of used Hummers willl be a buyers market in the not to distant future. Remember, an FJ Cruiser is for those whom just will not settle for "Just a Hummer" :-D

To learn more about the FJ Cruiser go to;

The FJ is more practical. Plus it's awesome offroad- same goes for the Wrangler. The H3 is for posers. You'd more likely see one blocking the front of a supermarket/coffee shop than on a trail. And what will you see INSIDE an H3? A driver with a latte and his kids in the back watching a Disney movie on the back of the headreasts. Maybe if you're lucky some rap-star will "bling it out." The FJ and Wrangler are more no-BS kinds of SUVs.

The Wrangler and the FJ are my top two in this department, hands down.

I've been trying to buy an FJ Cruiser for the past 2-3 weeks. Unfortunately, most of the dealers here in Dallas are still trying to the sell them for $3,000 to $5,000 over MSRP. I like the car and would like to one to replace my Xterra, but I'm just not willing to pay $30K for a ride that should go for around $25K or $26K. I figure that I'll wait 5-6 months and then go back and price them again. Hopefully, they'll be a little more realistic about their pricing by then.

A heads up to number 14. RangeRoverBoy:
LandRover = Ford.

The Jeep Wrangler is a very good 4x4. Obviously, your biased comment is what really ticks me off. Ignorant people like you that think Rovers are superior. They never had a locking center diff for more than a decade, what kinda 4x4 is that?

Hummer = Trash, but in the right hands, its capable. The Toyota FJ-Cruiser and Jeep Wrangler are far more capable competitors in todays market. The FJ-Cruiser is way more comfortable for offroad and onroad drives due to its nicely well done, high articulating suspension.

The Jeep Wrangler has very flexible suspension articulation, and a stock Rover cant come close to a Jeeps articulation. I don't see tons of aftermarket support for Rover. Rover is just as worse as the Hummer. Its an image only. I'd take a sh!tty Nissan Xterrible over a Rover.

Btw, I own a titanium metallic FJ, I should know.

I wanted a H3 when they first came out. But the 5cy engine is pathetic and a hummer mech told me don't waist your money. I then discovered the FJ. What a vehicle! It makes me smile everyday.

Look at the quality and engine of the two!!!

GM's pathetic chassis, pathetic engine, pathetic quality. You can't even pass a vehicle in the H3, but you can climb rocks?!?!?! I just wish GM would wake up, but I think it's too late.

I own an FJ. I've made no mods, and it rules offroad. I've climbed big muddy hills using the Bridgestone Duelers it came with. I've gone all over the place with no problems.

This is a very capable offroad SUV.

H1: Too wide for most Colorado/New Mexico trails
H2: Don't ask (i've seen many upsidedown on moderate trails)
H3: Why? Why? Why?
FJ: Limited off roading before modifying becomes too expensive.
Wrangler: Rides like Stagecoach, poor articulation. Easy to modify!
Land Rovers: Any solid axle Land Rover will thrill right out of the box, Easy to modify!

h2 not for offroading
h3 not for anything but driving on the street (a real hummer doesnt come with a 5 cylinder engine)
h4 is supposed to be worse.
the only hummer thats worth it, is being but, and is way too overpriced
landrovers are semi good for offroading, the only one that should be made isnt sold here (the defender).
Really i think the Fj is ugly, but i think that its a really good offroader. It has a niche. everyone is straying away from trucks that can actually offroad.
h1's are reall unnessisary for anything but heavy duty offroading and military. Most of the guys who own them rarely go offroading. So i will agree that they are compensation for something.

Only real Hummer is the H1, the rest of the line (H2 and H3) are re-badged ‘Hummer-looking’ GM cars.

There are rumors that Hummer will build a H4 by 2009, looking forward to seeing it. I dont know why it wasnt done already to target the Wrangler. The Fj release should speed that up.

The FJ SHOULD have been designed as the original... Make it with the current looks but with the functionality of the original 4-runner: top from the cab back.

Hummers are trucks for guys with small third legs and sleevless t-shirts. I looked at the FJ; it's style over substance. They didn't need to have all those marginal details like poor rear entry, bash-the-door spare and horrendo blind spots. The original FJ was cooler - but probably looked too much like a CJ Mail truck for 2006's buyer.

there is always a sales rush at launch but this should do well, great classic look (nasty blind spot though). i've seen a couple around already and they're really hulking compared to a wrangler. the fjs were spilling out of their parking spots. and, yes, i think hummer has really got to extend the brand beyond the big boy / big toy crowd. small medium and large makes for a pretty boring line-up. how bout a hummer CUV "city utility vehicle"? some kinda chunky little pit bull that could take on the mini!

wait 6-12 months until anyone who wants one has got there's and then we can see what kind of realistic sales #'s come in compared to Hummer.

No. Haven't heard anything, neither has the dealer. It is just on my wish list since the Landcruiser isn't an off-road vehicle like it was in the 1980s. They used to make the FJ-series (landcruisers) in 4-doors and 2-doors. I just figured it'd be the next logical step.

hummer h3 and h2 are ugly and useless, if you want a real off roader go with a wrangler or a fj. Toyota makes some of the nicest cars and i cant imagine them not beating hummer. Are you sure the Fj will come in 4 doors?

I can't wait for a 4-door FJ. The two-door FJ sucks for passengers.
