Its the direction Ford was heading in with the Taurus back in 1985-86 a Futuristic concept and design, but now the Ford family not only does’nt get the big picture- they messed things up and have their collective heads stuck up their asses. Ka ser ra ser ra

I give Toyota a Big Thumbs up its a brilliant design. Take it to the next Level. Ford did’nt want to since they were squabbling over which idiot Ford Heir was going to run or ruin the business. GM does’nt have a clue!

illlwill: Flex Fuel technology is a load of crap, it’s not a reasonable answer to the fuel crisis, and it’s no long term answer. In fact it’s about as short term as they come, far shorter than gas-electric hybrids. hockeysomethingorother: How do you know what type of keyboard I use? Weird to try and insult me on an extremely personal basis, such as the type of keyboard I use, when you clearly have no knowledge of such things. It’s interesting really, because it just makes you look dumb, trying to insult something you don’t know anything about. I actually have a Dell keyboard, you know, it came with the computer and everything…so…uhh…yeah guess you were uhh..wrong there…

Yeah at least Toyota actually builds quality hybrids, GM is busy sitting with their thumb its their ass making the Silverado bull**** hybrid and the half assed Saturn Vue hybrid. How about some real effort? how about a real product? toyota has had one since 2001, and honda since 2000. Thats why those manufacturers are innovators, not followers

Well, at least one can walk into a showroom and actually purchase a Prius; Toyota is marching it forward. GM needs to make the Volt a reality, and they are far from that goal given the current price of the battery technology they intend to use. Plus, GM is fighting with its own demons just to get moving again in the right direction.

Anyone else notice the listed height of “440mm”? That’s 17.3 inches…hardly enough for a normal person to sit in =p. Perhaps 1440mm is what was meant?

Regardless, this abomination makes my eyes bleed. I’m all for fuel economy, but not if I have to drive that.

Too efficient and utilitarian. The next Prius looks like some mutant Lamborghini. Not good but at least it looks interesting. This? Needs character, not just some future mini-van look.

I just wish GM would crow more about their efforts. It gives the impression they really aren’t doing anything even though we know better. The Sequel is a sweetheart if GM builds it. So is the VOLT… change the name. Those cars have spunk and pizazz.

This Toyota hybrid thingie looks like an escapee from test lab rather than a car meant to enthuse buyers. If this is direction they are going then they obviously don’t mean to keep the number one spot for very long.

If the current prius wasn’t ugly and had a little more power, I’d be driving one right now… not for the environment, CA lets these cars use the HOV lanes with one person in the car. With the amount of freeway driving I do, that’s a blessing.

This car looks better… now if they can get the car to have more power… it would be a great DD.

Looks like a manatee. I think the current one looks better. Maybe they should let the L-Finesse team that came up with the new LS spend a little time on this one. Hybrids/efficient diesels will become more common, and novelty won’t get it done like it once did. It looks like a bad concept from 1993 or something, one of those crappy visions of the future.
