Toyota has no plans to get involved in the GM, Renault, and Nissan discussions, a spokesperson told the Detroit News. “They haven’t approached us, and we haven’t approached them.” The statement comes after a Business Week report on Saturday, which indicated Toyota was considering making a surprise deal with GM. “We haven’t war-gamed how to help GM,” the official said. “We have looked at possible scenarios, what would happen if GM or Ford went into bankruptcy, but we haven’t war-gamed how to help GM.”

Why doesn’t Toyota join Nissan/Renault? Just think, they could ban together to remove their sorry asses from my country. This is GM country boys, you don’t belong here

If GM is so good, why is the stockmarket dumping it? Only Ford is junkier stock.
GM deserves what ever it gets.

Good competition always makes it better for the consumer… the only problem is Ford and GM have never really stepped up to the plate to compete. They could if they really wanted to. Come on, guys… show us what your made of… make us proud!

#2- I agree. The market has and will drive what happens in any industry. There will be people who will ONLY drive GM, Ford, Toyota, BMW products. There just so happens to be a lot of consumers who are breaking from the Big 3 to drive Toyota’s, Honda’s, etc. I’m a big fan of the market driving what happens, regardless of who it happens to. I’m just glad I work for Toyota!

Because Toyota is afraid that Ghosn will make GM better and it will definitely derail their plan of being the world’s number one. The troubles of GM and Ford today is mainlt caused by their own snobbish beliefs and underestimating the competition.

GM, Ford, and Chrysler should go out of business TODAY which would be a great thing for the planet. They build the ugliest, most fuel inefficient vehicles and are a cancer to our country. I personally pray that we get to $5/gal ASAP so we can finally get off this addiction to gas guzzlers and oil. I hope Toyota puts all 3 out of business.
