teahead, I’m European and I drive Mazda, which, according to German car magazin Auto Bildt, produces the most reliable cars – but then, All European Mazdas are imported from Japan. Most of my frends drive Japanese cars.

Borrat’s right, (Hyundai has factory in Czech republic, as has Toyota). In fact, most Hondas and Toyotas available in Europe are made in Europe, well, Britain. We buy cars we want, only the Czechs are irrational and continue to buy Skodas no matter what.

All I know is that the one Toyota that I owned was pure crap, & 2 out of the 3 Chevy vehicles I’ve owned, 2 of them were also pure crap, one one was decent. Ford is the only one that I have never had a problem with. I’ll keep buying Ford for that reason.

hahaha bankruptcy your hilarious, toyota overtake GM in the truck market? Did you happen to look at the sales numbers? GM has 41.8% of full-size marketshare while toyota has 8.5%. They wouldnt catch GM if they had jesus, mary, and joseph themselves telling us to buy the tundra.

When the 2009 Dodge Ram was in the earlyish design stages we benchmarked both the 1st and 2nd generation Tundra, the plain truth was Dodge didn’t have the money available to even start to compete with them. I know there have been some issues with the strength of the tailgate on the newer tundra but at least in terms of materials quality and quality of build the Tundra crucifies the Ram on every count.
However this is more an issue with the midsize trucks, most of the engineers know the Dakota is too big and too close to the ram for the segment it is aimed at, and as a previous poster mentioned it is ugly as hell, The Dakota was unfortunately a victim of circumstance, the previous generation, which sold like hot cakes I might add, was deemed by some suit to be too expensive to build, the genius had no doubt worked out that by making the next gen even cheaper to build by removing every ounce of quality in the vehicle AND maintaining sales performance Dodge would make millions extra in profits. Unfortunately nobody wanted a crappy quality, badly built, oversize, butt ugly mid size truck. Yet another overpaid MBA crashed and burned…..

Tundra is a good Truck no doubt. Give Credit where it is Due. However Dodge makes and awfully good truck as well. But Toyota has the Quality and reliability perception that Dodge does’nt. I think GM will be the next to fell since they are number 2. Ford if they do it right may never have to give up their crown at the top.

Exactly, the tacoma beat the dakota. The tundra still sucks, its still ugly, its still garbage next to american full sizers. The tacoma is the best vehicle toyota makes, which i know doesnt sound like much, cause everything else blows, but thats the one vehicle they make that i would consider purchasing. And the dakota is pretty hideous and irrelevant in the segment at this point, although it is the best American mid-sizer available.

teahead, most of Jap cars in America are build in America and Americans cars build either in Mexico, Canada or So. Korea (with sprinkle in Europe).
Europeans are buying cars they like. I observed a lot of Jap cars (some made in Europe) in UK, Germany, Spain, Italy and France. Kia has a factory in Slovakia and Hyundai is made somewhere in Europe. Honda, Nissan have factories in England for over 20 years (just like in US) and Toyota just build modern factory in France (together with PSA).

I’m really not suprised, i mean this isnt that big a deal. the big there really dont put any time and effort into their midsize. When the Ram is over taken in sales by the Tundra then start stockin water jugs, spam and wait in your basement with your 12 gauge.

Check it out, go to the History Channel’s web-site and order your self a copy of the “The History of Automobiles” It cover’s from the Fist car ever made that was Mercedes Benz. Ford’s Model T “The Car of the People” to the arrival of the Japanese Car to U.S. market. To what’s going on today. It’s a good DVD, like that you won’t look stupid with your comments, like the one you just posted…

They outsold the midsize trucks. The big 3 still outsell on fullsize which is too bad considering the Big 3 suck and they did nothing but copy Toyota’s truck. If not for Toyota there would be no midsize and fullsize pickup trucks. Typical American’s , can’t come up with your own ideas, so use someone elses. This has been going on for years, look at how Henry Ford copied the manufacturing and use of assembly lines from the Toyonda and Honda families.

Oh wait, maybe I have all that wrong. Oh well, America sucks and being patriotic should land you in prison. I hate America.

Oh well, my Mom needs me. Time for her bath.
