but they have had a problem with fires starting due to their oil filters exploding….sooo, that’s one more reason why I will never buy a camry, or any toyota for that fact! What’s wrong with nissans that would make someone buy a toyota?

I’d like to see the Fusion outsell the Camry. And maybe the Malibu too. (and maybe a few other midisizers too)

Then maybe Toyota will greatly reconsider their Camry.

^^ i saw an 02-06 camry on fire in LA last year in the same place-engine bay. i passed it and then heard a huge BOOM. there was no other wrecked car nearby. strange. was the camry you saw the same generation?

speaking of best engineering and quality, I just had to wait for 30 minutes because a damn camry was on fire in the engine bay area. POS!!!!!

I do believe Toyota has some of the best engineering and quality in the industry, but they really lack passion in the way their cars drive and handle. Everyone I know who owns a Toyota talks about quality, reliability, isolation from the road, etc. Not one of them has ever said they bought a Toyota because it was a great driving machine. To me, this is what’s going to hold them back more than any other thing.

I think Ford is trying to bring back that “driver” delight. That’s why I can’t wait to see some of their Europ designs integrated into more of the US products.

Yep you don’t see Camry: it is best selling sedan. I don’t know why, just for the past 20 years it is. Lets dream when Ford & GM 9or whatever) will outsell Camry, meanwhile last year it outsold them all. Perhaps those despicable japs know somethings better then our geniuses do?

I would’nt be too quick to pickup production just yet. I think the Fusion Hybrid will outsell the Camry By Years end for sure.
