1c3d0g, I'm so damn tired of your little "Toy Ota" bullshit. Stop being such a narrowminded idiot and start looking at cars objectively. People don't ever regret buying a Toyota because they buy a car that lasts them FOREVER, a quality car, something Ford and GM don't have any idea how to produce. This is why Toyota is the best, this is why they will soon be #1, and this is why you're comments are moronic at the very least.

Toyota- I have been seeing this coming for a while now, it's time to get rid of that trash heap they call GM as the #1 car manufacturer in the world. You've got MY full support.

Veda, anyone who has examined the american market to any sort of degree knows that there are a lot of consumers out there who don't give a crap about how their car handles - they just want to get from point a to point b. Toyota has been good to catering to that market. It's probably a very good percentage of the sales they make. Your point defintely does have merit there.

However, there are probably engineering teams from competitors who are ensuring that their cars can match the same type of quality and ergonomics they are used to seeing in toyota as well as catering to the market that wants their cars to handle well. In the days ahead where there will be several competitors that can offer reliable market products, I believe that the more "desirable" car will come from a company that can offer not only point A - point B access but also nice handling, with a comfortable ride, good features, and a budget that won't break the bank. There won't be any reason to choose a Toyota if other companies get that reputation as well. Especially in the Lexus market, where it's evident that the vehicles are directly competing with other Luxury/Sport brands that are basically the ultimate in passenger vehicles.

I see plenty of technology around that allows a comfortable ride and supple handling. Honda seems to be doing pretty well in that regard, for example. Obviously, everything is a compromise, but practicality alone will not drive sales when many other cars will have it. Besides, no one ever got to the top by staying where they are.

InvisibleEcho, just a thought, would it be possible that what critics call "stoic driving experiences" is actually what the buying public wants? Maybe, just maybe most people prefer that soft smooth ride over spirited driving. Otherwise, why are they selling?

At what point would you consider Toyota an American company with Japanese roots? Something like 60% of their cars sold here are mostly built here. Conversly, most of the current products from our "Domestic Brands" are built over one of two boarders. What would make it an American car? Is it the engine? Body? Assembly location? Origin of the Name? or is just the Soul that matters?

InvisibleEcho, Perfect. Send IT! The IS350 keeps losing to the BMW 330i even though on paper, "it's a better car."

Dear Toyota:
While I applaud the corporate and product manoeuvers that brought to your current economic success, you might want to make sure that your product QA stays high. Also, I've read wayyy too many articles that indicate both your Toyotas and Lexuses are stoic driving experiences due to being disconnected from the steering wheel and other handling complaints. Fix that and make them fun to drive, even if they are economical and/or reliable and/or luxurious.

Other car companies are increasing their quality to compete with the only real reputational advantage that you have right now. You even killed off the Supra and Celica. You need a halo car that's not a hybrid that gets the same real world MPG as competing non-hybrid cards, and no more of that hidden recall nonsense. That's bad to everyone, including your shareholders which you claim to ignore in the pursuit of quality.

Just be good. And the sales will keep coming in. Don't get complacent or the market will bite you in the ass like GM and Ford found out.

You prove your worthlessness on a daily basis with shit like that posted above.

You are an idiot, a loser, and one of the stupidest monkeys to post here, EVER.

Will you just ONCE post something of value?

I wonder if being the largest is the same as being the most profitable or successful.

In a global Market we will buy what we want from who we want. I guess Toyota is who most peopel want to buy from right now.

1c3d0g has a big problem with Toyota or any other Jap brands' success it seems. Maybe he's a GM employee who hates Toyota, or his dad works for Ford, who knows... His inability to grasp reality and provide factual statements led to me to believe that he is nothing more than a bitter highschool kid who can't even afford his own car. Sigh... more constructive discussions please...

Not really. When the people realize the Toy Ota bullshit they just bought, they're going to avoid them for life. :-)
