You have hit the nail on the head. 1115 is incapable of seeing past his own narrow minded opinions. And he is not worth anyones time.
Thanks for sharing your insight with a newbee

Hey, I'm guilty. I fought this goon for a few weeks before I saw that it's always a big useless circle. You can't convince someone who has no capacity for perspective. He'll just keep drawing his own conclusions from everything we type, no matter how much those arguments prove the opposite. Show the guy an Apple, and if he's convinced enough that every fruit is an Orange, you'll be holding an Orange.

I know, we're all just feeding the Troll, though. He did exactly what he wanted. He turned around, and you all helped, and made it about GM's quality. I've seen more talk about GM recalls, from both sides, in this thread than the actual recall on topic, a Toyota one. You call him an idiot, then you play right into his hands.

It's like a dog who rips up your couch for attention. Sure, you're beating him with a shoe, but hey, attention is attention.

Oh, for fuck's sake. What does a Toyota recall have to do with GM, people?

A defective seat belt is a huge deal, and the recall is warranted. Chalk it up to growing pains and see it for what it is. Proof that Toyota's reputation is not much more than public perception, as usual. There is no perfect car company, and Toyota never has been close. They were simply the 'other man' who was there to pick up the pieces when our love for domestic iron went sour.

Somehow I don't see Toyota subletting seatbelt and seat design to a smaller vendor. They should of had this figured out YEARS AGO. SUV's and kids, yeah no brainer.

GM fires.... most of these cars had a valve cover leak and recommended at some point for a repair. The owners that chose to neglect a simple valve cover gasket repair (all manufacturers have leaking valve covers) were shocked that oil followed the rules gravity and ran onto the exhaust. (supercharged engine exh manifolds are much hotter than NA mtrs) Shocking. Most import owners gladly pay for a simple repair like that. Most domestic owners are skeptical they are getting hosed by a flat rate mechanic. Its ok, GM will goodwill new engines for owners that have never changed their oil. Lets see you get a warranty or out of warranty repair out of an import without a service history. Didn't think so.
Injuries were most likely a result of negligence. Do you think someone got injured getting burned in a car in the drivers seat from a fire at the engine? More like burnt eyebrows opening the hood and diving in for a closer look.

re:
GM is recalling 275,936 MY 2005-2007 Cadillac CTS, SRX, STS, MY 2006-2007 Pontiac Solstice, and MY 2007 Saturn Sky passenger vehicles. The rear axle pinion seal does not meet all of the specifications and may experience a fluid leak. A rear differential failure may cause loss of motive power and possibly loss of vehicle control increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the pinion seal.

Actually this recall was announced by Getrag, the manufacturer of the rear axle. They made GM aware of their mistake and hence released this recall to replace to affected parts. Getrag manufactures many parts for many companies including BMW and Porsche. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Getrag
Unlike Toyota, GM took the blame for the defect and didnt blame Getrag(which the imports defiantly would of)

re:
Component: 2002 CADILLAC SEVILLE FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY
Potential Units Affected: 102212
2002 CADILLAC SEVILLE FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR
I hope you realize that a skewed Fuel Tank Pressure sensor will only provide false FTP reading that will result in excess vacuum that will set a Type A DTC with a resulting MIL lamp. Most people would have gone to a dealer and received a replacement 'Made in Singapore' sensor and be on their way. Accidents and injuries. I think not.
Because it is an emission control, a safety recall was issued.

1115, get a life, son. Remember GM-18XX and Need-more-oil-4-gm? You became them(him), but on another side of the spectrum. Those arguments not good for you: you've been fighting non-existing war from noon to 7 P.M. what else could you accomplish today? Smell the flowers, listen to music, watch some other news.

No injuries or accidents have been connected to the recall then there were 11 accidents and 6 injuries? Assuming that this article isnt full of shit 267 fires and six injuries is less than 267 fires 6 injuries? but its bad either way but thank you for letting me prove it wasnt as bad as a GM recall.
also
The New GM is the old GM
http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2008/02/nhtsa_gm_fires.html

The HHR is a 2006-2008 Model I was having a hard time finding that recall but thanx The truck owners reported to NHTSA that both homes were badly damaged and two people were injured in one of the fires. The trucks set homes on fire ! Homes possibley with Children OH THE CHILDREN
Umm I thought you said the recalls were from 5- 15 years ago . When you can admit that GM is making recent recalls on their new models (which further proves my point and negate your point) Toyota may have caused 6 injuries compared to 267 GM fires and over 8 injuries including buring 2 homes down its still better to buy the Toyota
Compromise

First of all, I have a life.

No, I'm saying that based on my 20+ years of experience that your biases and statements are incorrect. I can't explain the mass delusion that jap cars are better than domestics. For the life of me I can't figure it out. I've dealt with some of these people who insist their car never breaks when it's in my shop because it's broken! But funny thing about the public. Their perceptions change from time to time, and everything is cyclical.

Also, I tow vehicles for AAA and believe me I get to haul a lot of jap brands to various shops. It happens. It happens a lot.

I see it, I live it. You don't.

Oh, and let me be the first to call BS on you when you go crazy over the latest GM recall announcement LLN will eventually cover. It seems that in one crash test (one) that a dummy hit its head on a door pillar and might have gotten hurt. So even without any injuries GM is fixing it. I can't wait to hear more BS from you on that!

I really don't give a shit if you leave me alone or not. It's just that you promised, and now it looks like you're adding clauses to avoid having to live up to it.

I read the 267 engine fires and 6 injuries from the 1997 to 2003 Buick Regals and Pontiac Grand Prixs. I acknowleded that.

Did you read about the 6 (six)injuries caused by faultly ball joints in one year old toyotas.
Will you correct your previous statements that Toyota's recalls never injured anyone?

"Let me ask you something honestly Do you really think that GM has a better product than the Japanese ? If you can honestly say yes Ill leave you alone"

Yes. And when I say that I'm saying that ALL manufacturers have problems. I've taken Hondas on trade from very disappointed owners who've discovered there is no panacea of quality. I've had customers who've experienced abnormally high levels of problems with their GM vehicles as well. I've owned DOZENS of GM vehicles over the years, and am yet to have a car that I couldn't rely on. Your experience might have been different. But more likely you've never even owned a domestic and think you're smarter than everyone else because you have a Honda. I've seen it all too often...

Now we'll see if your word is any good.

Where do I start?

1. You said "I have never said that Japan doesn’t have recalls"...I never said you did.

2. You said "GM has already injured people and Honda and Toyota have not." My previous post showed that from this one toyota recall 6 people where injured( thats all Toyota would confirm although there were more)

3.Aw Fuk it. What's the point you're to retarded to get it.

I have never said that Japan doesn’t have recalls.
I do think some recalls are more serious than others especially when injuries are already involved I cant help that.
GM has already injured people and Honda and Toyota have not.
The real question is why is everyone on this board so gung Ho (lol) about Toyota having recalls???
Ask yourself that question. Could it be that we are Americans and we should prefer an American product even though it may not be as well made??

GMs recalls involve a range of vehicles that go all the way to current models
My above recall was just one of the many recalls some of which had thread on LLN
I don’t think anyone has a PERcieved bar of perfection for any car but there are some cars that are less likely to give problems and when comparing the Japanese vs. American, the Japanese car is less likely to have issues. The resale and the numbers speak for themselves
If you seriously think that GM is on par with the Japanese then fine but the numbers show otherwise. If you buy American over Japanese your decision is based on either stupidity patriotism or hope none of which are reasons to consider a GM when shopping for a car
If you like your Cadillac’s or Pontiacs then fine just don’t buy it on patriotism.

The diference between you and I is that we know GM and Ford and Chrysler and Toyota and everyone else have recalls.
But you contend Japanese are not serious and they do not cause injuries unlike big 3 recalls. That sir is inaccurate and false. (see my previous post)
The fact of the matter is that I believe some Japanese companies are at the top of the car industry (Honda Subaru and others). Toyota is no longer there. But you blindly and ignorantly defend anything that comes from Japan.
Toyota is dropping quickly in quality while two of the big three are making great efforts and will soon surpass Toyota in Inital Quality and we will eventually see them surpass Toyota in long term quality. What I am saying is that alot of Toyotas new stuff is way below their PRECIEVED bar of perfection. And you are to flawed to see that.
The biggest deference between a GM recall and a Toyota recall is not the quantity or the severity of the recall. It is that most of Toyota's recalls involve new product, and many of GM's recent recalls involve older, no longer produced vehicles.(See your above post)

In order to call me a liar you would have to have conclusive proof which you dont. You on the other hand have your cars listed online
You are the one that started this game remember.
Really, I dont care bc my point is proven and your its getting to you so much that you are spending an adnormal amount of time looking for info on me.
I dont care about anyone on this board bc it is AN ONLINE BOARD. You seem very sensitive and take things personally which is a female trait and I say that not to insult you but to inform you. You can call me a liar, hypocrite or whateever but due to lack of proof and me not caring it means less than nothing to me. However they can see you as a big baby who whines and who is way too immature to handle an online thread.
Each time you post you whine more and show how immature and sensitive you are.
Back to the subject. The Toyota Highlander is a helluva vehicle and I come on the board just to let poeple know that GM ford and others are unreliable and unsafe as well. They have bad track records and this is proven. They should prove themselves and then consumers will consider them in the same league as the Japanese. I back this up with resale reliabiltiy rating from valued sources and all you guys bring back to me is a JD Powers 3 year study on a Buick lol. Until GM and others are forced to make a reliable car they wont bc they can sell the car on patriotism alone and that is dangerous for drivers on the roads which can be you

Even if you win an argument against 1115 loser, you can't change the fact he's a retard. And yes, GM does make a better vehicle than Toy Ota, no matter how you slice it. :-P
