Oh wait. My father just baught a Camry, and my mom a Solara.
I don’t understand that. It’s like Toyota puts a spell on their customers. They have owned 3 other toyotas prior to their new ones and they refuse to look at any other brand. I don’t get it, it’s not like the cars have anything exciting about them. Maybe the airvents give off an odor that attracts them.

Well they do. Toyota has not made a really exciting car since hmhhhh I don’t know the late 90s or so I guess. I mean the new MR2 that is now dead was kind of something.

Most people (look at the sales figures for all car makes) don’t want an exciting car. Toyota makes the cars for most people. Give them credit for doing that really well.

Toyota is on fire but Lexus actually is not doing that well when you consider almost all of their vehicles are in decline (the larger SUVs are expected in today’s market).
They are lucky the new IS is selling so well or their total sales would be in the negative from last year.

The only thing unusual about this is that Honda isn’t doing as well compared to Toyota and Honda generally is the more exciting brand of the two. But then it’s hard to convince Toyota fanatics otherwise.

When Toyota see the problems on their cars…they admit it…and they dare to recall. Unlike the BIG 3, they will start recall after some people died or got sued.

Anyone who knows care to comment on if/how much the Toyota dealer/service experience contributes to customer loyalty? Is there something that Toyota do differently than domestics in that area?

well, people dont want new and exciting cars that might have hidden problems (since they’re all new things) but a proven car that can get them from point A to point B without a care in the world about the car.
i mean come on what can be so exciting about being stranded in a car all your life. its like giving plasma tv’s to prisoners or whatever but the point is youre still in jail.
car industry is quite old and there has not been any fundamental change in driving experience, its become a way of life.
i hope i am clear
