Why do I need to read your links? I've told you over and over I'm an automotive professional. I know more about what's going on in my biz than you do - I get the 'inside' scoop, and I see it every day. I've told you over and over how and why you're wrong about so many things, you keep changing the argument and/or making up new BS claims. I've told you about my 100k plus, problem free GM vehicles, my customers with Hondas and Toyotas that have lots of problems, etc. You don't believe me, I don't care. I've NEVER posted one word that wasn't the absolute truth.

Funny, I keep posting for the same reason - to prevent idiots like you from influencing people away from domestic products, which are NOT worse than your beloved Japanese shitboxes. And if they're not worse, they're better - becasue it is better for the US economy to keep our cash here. This isn't patriotisn run amok, it's fiscal responsibility.

You are a blowhard and a buffoon. Everyone here knows it. And I think you know it too, you're too stupid to just STFU.

I read through you're links and your claims are nothing but over-exaggerated BS.

You're wrong injunraiv.... only Japanese recalls are trivial... all of GM's are serious because all GM cars will either maim or kill you! It's proven... because I have links.

Honestly though... how can you expect certain types to differentiate when they can't even perform simple arithmetic? How can you expect such a thing when certain types will look at two numbers and insist that the smaller number is actually the larger of the two? How can you expect such when certain types can't even realize that Jan-Mar = 3 months and that 3/12 = 1/4?

It's impossible to play a game when the other person would rather change the rules a million times or even shoot themselves in the head, rather than ever admit a mistake, let alone defeat.

I'd like to point out that a recall doesn't make a car unreliable, no matter what certain fluffernutters say. Case in point, the axle seal recall on the Solstice/Skye. Did that car fail to start? Did it not get where you needed to go? No, the seal 'might' start seeping sometime. The Honda wiper motor thing? Same deal. These are merely design flaws, and are easily corrected (relatively). They should have nothing to do with a cars resale value, or anything beside some relatively inumportant factor in purchasing a used car.

However, certain types don't know how to differentiate important from trivial, and thet's where dopes like 1115 come in.

:ding: your toast is ready!

Haha 1115, your answer to my last post (all the way at #24) was simply "stop it, you're wrong". Is that supposed to make you win any argument? It isn't working

And be it known that I don't care who is #1 in sales. I don't buy from the company that sells the MOST cars, I buy the company that is selling the BEST car for me. I actually WANT toy to get that 1st place sales trophy that their CEO, Mr.Watanabe, has been bitching about since 1994. THAT WAY, Toy will finally be in the spotlight. People will stop portraying Toy as the little company that is taking on big, evil, "poor quality" domestic giants, but will finally (HOPEFULLY) hold Toy to the same standard as GM is held to. For example, when Toy is #1, people like you MIGHT stop saying that GM's incredible new cars are unreliable before they have even taken the "10 year" test while at the same time calling Toy reliable even though their 8 year old and 4 year old cars are unreliable

Hey Sicko, I can tell you this is NOT the general experience with these vehicles. As Hemi said, invoke the lemon law on this one and get a new one. You won't experience the same rash of problems.
But, if you're just here to complain you and 1115 should have a nice conversation.

Well boo hoo. It's obviously a lemon, ever heard of the lemon law? Go get a new one! You apparantly just got a bad one which is rare but happens, they'll replace it. You think a toyota or honda has never had a problem like that or worse? Why don't all of you just move to japan?

I am writing this message while my 4 month old Buick Enclave is on its 25th day in the shop for a bad camshaft and a leaking head gasket. I had an ECU go bad the first month and a water leak the next. Needless to say I am fed up with GM and their crappy quality. I took a chance when I traded my 2003 Honda Pilot in on what I was expecting to be a very nice upgrade and I got the shaft, big time.

And it looks like I am not alone in this, the Enclave, the Saturn and the Arcada are all affected by a widespread rash of camshaft problems with these vehicles.

http://www.enclaveforum.net/index.php?topic=2469.0

I took a chance with my first GM vehicle that I have ever had and it will be my last.

Let Toyota take the top spot in sales, GM has lost my business just like everyone else.

1115, you are an import humping mofo. You act as if your married to toyota, honda or any other random list of $H!TTY overpriced crap boxes. They are BORING! They are SLOW! They get decent fuel economy but it looks to me the AMERICAN automakers are doing the inventing and japan is trying to copy as they have always done. Now go fry me up my Whopper with cheese and you better be wearing a smile when you serve it to me. Don't be stuttering at the drive thru either next time.

Now go fry me up my Whopper with cheese and you better be wearing a smile when you serve it to me. Don’t be stuttering at the drive thru either next time.

When we compare global car sales it was a virtual tie. We're talking a few thousand cars in the scale of millions. But yeah, if you go in to detail GM did edge out Toyota in global car sales (while Toyota edged out GM in global vehicle production (1115 might confuse the two)).

Umm... glad to see that your grasp of mathematics is as strong as it is about cars...

Let me spell it out for you there sparky... January is the first (1) month, February is the second (2) month, and March is the third (3) month... There are 12 months in a year, so... 3/12 = 1/4. Seeing as how GM sold more cars in the NA market than Toyota in each month of the first quarter (three months, Jan-Mar), that means GM sold more cars in NA than Toyota... unless in your little world, three smaller numbers add up to a larger sum than three larger numbers.

Why the hell would I be squirming because of someone who can't even count?

And please provide some proof that Toyota sold more than GM in 2007... because again.. in NA alone, GM sold 3,886,620 and Toyo sold 2.620,825... So which is the larger number, you dumbass? AND... if you were paying any attention at all... GM actually came out ahead in 2007 global sales once Toyota finally released exact numbers.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22801376/

So what point did I make exactly... that all of us are constantly arguing with a little douche bag that can't even count?? This time last year Toyota was ahead in the global count and they still came up short in the end. GM still leads Toyota in 15 of the worlds 20 largest markets and they are way ahead in what is the world's largest emerging market - China.

How pathetic are you that you would argue about numbers that are plain as day? Can you seriously not count? I'm beginning to think more and more that you're an actual, certifiable retard.

Let me just tel you that a quarter 1/4 means 3 months of 2008 so March would be less and 2007 was last year lol and uhh Toyota beat GM ha ha
You are squirming like hell lol I LOVE IT
Either way, my point it made… If you want to suck on someone you better ask your "friend" Commodore

Sorry... I'm going to use some 1115 logic here... I don't care about the rest of the world.. so wake me up when their sales have supplanted GM's as number one in North America, because the last time I checked - they hadn't.

March 2008 NA Sales:
GM - 282,732
Ford - 227,143
Toyota - 217,730
Chrysler - 166,386
Honda - 138,734

Feb 2008 NA Sales:
GM - 270,423
Ford - 196,681
Toyota - 182,169
Chrysler - 150,093

And lest we forget 2007 totals:
GM - 3,886,620
Toyota - 2,620,825

GM is far from the underdog... especially on it's home turf. And don't be surprised to see GM jump back on top worldwide in a few years - China's exploding... and they don't like the Japanese all that much. The day Toyo starts selling more in the NA market is the day I get worried... hell, Toyota even fell back behind Ford in February and March... probably because of all of Toy-o's recalls...
Honda - 115,397

Jan 2008 NA Sales:
GM - 252,565
Toyota - 171,849
Ford - 159,914
Chrysler - 137,392
Honda - 98,511

autonut: at the end of the day when you've thrown a years salary at a Civic or one of its clones well, you're still driving a Civic. Perhaps you're right though and I'm a little too old school. I heard today that 'the big 3' now only account for 49% of Canadian sales. Funny how those of us raised on GTOs, Cudas and 'Stangs are now in the minority.

As for what this is saying, it is to be expected. But not because GM sucks like 1115 wishes, but because GM relies on North America as its largest market whereas Toy is not concentrated in the US. So what's happening is that GM is catching up to Toy in non-American sales while Toy is NOT really catching GM in US sales because they are falling, BUT GM is keeping its share of the market as another LLN article reported. Because GM relies on the US too much (although they are doing a good job here in a slumping market), its total sales seem bad but in reality they are on track.
BLAH BLAH BLAH STOP WHINING ! aGM sucks TOyota doesnt the sales show it thats it! If the tables where reversed you would be bragging about some bullshit but now you make excuses Im tired of your bitching

Johnny, I disagree. Cars have been appliances in N.A. for a long time. There was always a segment of population that was in love with cars and it still exists. I think young kids who modify inexpensive cars to run faster (depicted as ricers on pages here) are descendants of guys who were dropping superchargers in the bay of "duce & quarter".
The rest of the population does love cars, but for another reason: status symbol. As such the underpinnings and technology are irrelevant.

Toyota bores me too. I liked the FJ for about 6 months after it came out, but now it looks like a gay transformer. So far there's nothing in their lineup that interests me. Lexus is another story. The GS400 is looking good. I like the IS series too, although the IS-F looks like it came off the pages of a high schooler's notepad in study hall.

I'm exactly with Shaver on this one. I don't care how successful Toyota is, Without offerring a MR2, Supra or Celica Toyota won't get a penny from me. Toyota, 1115 has also become synonymous with one more word... BORING!

What do you know ... injuries and lives at stake due to Toyota's negligence in handling a recall. 1115, are you now going to call Toyota an evil company also? Or are you going to be a hypocrite?

Reliability difference isn't all that much for sedans. Larger vehicles Detroit had a lock on, so they let the reliability slip there. I don't see any automaker making a lot of cars that really stand out. You have a couple, like the Camaro (small numbers) and PT Cruiser, Hummer H1, VW beetle, Scion tall wagon thingy, after that they're all big and boxy (some bigger and boxier than others) or a normal sedan or hatchback with a different grill and badge. The Prius/Aztek dare to be a little different and people slam that style (I'm not a fan either). People think they're showing off by buying copycat SUVs and never taking them off-road and rarely using half the seats, what's the point of that?
Chevy Aveo? Don't get me started - a cheap car made by Daewoo in South Korea and rebadged by GM. Yeah, like buying that will save American jobs! Struggles to get mid-20's mpg, no bonus there, better off with a Focus, but if you want something better with more flexibility and mpg a Versa, Fit, or Yaris has more bank for the buck.
Europe makes a lot of noise for fuel-efficient cars (and diesels), but pretty much everything imported here has surprisingly poor mpg for the size of the vehicle. Bottom line is, the Japanese are well-positioned for today's market.

Useful to let you know that Toyota (and Honda)is superior to GM.

tripleonefive - you don't listen too well. You were supposed to jump in front of a bus and do us all a favor by putting yourself out of your misery. What are you waiting for?

You and your posts are less than useless.

No shortage of thoughtful views here today.
Overall who cares about who sells the most, who makes the most $. I like cars. Some of my favorite are from the smallest least succesful companies. Companies like Lotus, Mazda and Nissan who barely survived and are now thriving. GM makes a few interesting cars I like, they make great trucks. Toyota makes decent quality cars and lots of them. I used to like Celica, Supra, MR2, old pick ups and Fjs. Props to them for Hybrid succes, but Toyota presently makes zero cars that interest me. So they can sell a billion cars and I still would have no interst in their products.

Misconception- I love that excuse
Someone should have dropped the bomb on the trailer park you grew up in
Quality & reliability is synonymous with Toyota just like hick & jackass are synonymous with you
Synonymous means the same (being that you are a hick you wouldn’t know that)

blah blah blah.... toyota is doing so good because we have gotten the misconception that they build quality reliable cars... total bs though. I think the government etched that into so many people's brains because they wanted to help out these jap manufacturer's because they still feel bad about dropping the bomb on them in the big one, WW2.

This is just a symptom of a greater illness. The big three used to be great because of the passion North America had for the automobile back in the day. They still make many of those types of cars. I mean can you ever imagine Toyonda putting out a Camcord that looks like a Super-Bee Charger? Not f*cking likely. Sadly the clones don't care anymore and are more worried about fitting in than standing out. Most of them are too busy to worry about what they drive. I love people that start every conversation with 'oh, I'm so busy...'. F*ck off. I'm not, and if I was I wouldn't be here talking to you.
